    Funny Repair Mishaps

In another thread of mine I reported the result of a recent repair that ended badly and thought others may have similar stories they wish to share.

In my latest mishap I was repairing an LG 42pc3d of which I consider it and its bretheren to be read-headed stepchildren. I wouldn't even let it in the house and so had put it atop a folding table in the garage. At some point a few days later I was attempting to retrieve something from the garage and had move the table slightly. The leg gave out. Screws and tools everywhere and a broken tv to boot. I stood there still holding the end of the table that hadn't collapsed and started laughing.

The tv is gone to the dump and I don't miss it lol.

    Re: Funny Repair Mishaps

Another time I was proudly carrying a freshly repaired UN46D7000 down the hallway and stumbled going through the doorway but managed to land the tv atop the foot of the bed while i was twisted up beneath it. My wife and daughter were laying on the bed watching and seeing my graceful entrance began to giggle uncontrollably.

I giggled to but only after I realized I hadn't damaged the set.

      Re: Funny Repair Mishaps

I had messed up a 46" Sony, already repaired.
I have placed the TV on it's stand, ready to put the screws in.
When I tried pushing the screwdriver in, the whole TV fell forward and broke the screen.
I forgot that this TV, does not have those claws holding the TV in it's stand.

Yesterday, I have received another Onkyo TX-NR636 and I was trying it out, what the problem was with it.
I have tested it, on the dining table with my daughter and wife at the table playing cards.
When I turned it on, the two final transistors just blew up in a big smoky fashion. Course, they jumped up from there chairs. I made a very bad smell in the whole area.

Lift Master garage door opener with WiFi capability application through your phone
        by sam_sam_sam
I had a lot of trouble with the WiFi connection from my router inside of the house into a ( new ) metal garage I had to run a 150 ft cat6 patch cord so the WIFI connection would be strong enough for the WiFi connection on the garage door opener would work correctly ( my son has a work out area in the garage as well and he was having to put his phone near the door to be able to stream music ) ( so I was going to eventually put WiFi out there anyway )

This garage door opener WiFi is very touchy if you lose the power it does not remember the password for the router which is weird or...

Lowest possible resistance on laptop motherboard rail - Guide Table request
        by Nagy Daniel
Hi, I'm Daniel, and I'm new to the world of repairing motherboards.

I would like to create a table, or more likely a guideline about the voltage rails and their possible resistance rail.

I know that the motherboard design has a very big depend on the rail's resistance, but I would like to know what is the smallest value for a rail that can be acceptable. For example, I heard that some new gaming motherboards can have 0,5 Ohm resistance on the GPU rail, but on an older type, it could be a sign of a shorted GPU rail.

So, I generated a table with AI so I can...

MacBook Pro M4 16" A3403 on the table with water damage
        by TimSinger
        Hi guys,
I have a MacBook Pro M4 16" A3403 on the table with water damage. I allready found the problem within a bad cap. As far as my researh went, I couldn't find the schematics and boardview for this MacBook model. They seem not to be released now. So my question is if anybody has a working A3403 on the table and could tell me, which specification this capasator has?
I attached a photo of the missing cap. It's on the bottom side of the logicbard.

I am very thankful for your replys.
Thanks in advanced and best regards from Hamburg Germany...

Lift Master Garage Door wall switch display / motion sensor controller display disappeared no back light
        by sam_sam_sam
This happened last Saturday and today I finally had time this morning before I went to work to replace two non brand capacitors

I will let you be the judge weather or not these are bad or not according to the blue ESR meter that I am using

I am comparing them to a brand new one that I installed

The display came back on and the programming was not lost which I was surprised by I would have thought that when the display went blank that so did the memory as well

I going to let it run for several days before I remount back on the wall next to the...
