I took the TV apart to see how many LEDs were out and found one! What's the easiest way to remove one of these LEDs? I have a light strip from another TV that I can use to replace the LED. I am having trouble removing the led without damaging it. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

Great stuff always use hot air for leds solder iron just melts them, be sure to add some flux when you solder the replacement in to make sure it has a good connection keep us postedPlease Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Re: Toshiba 46L5200U LED Replacement Help Needed
Okay the led I had was to small and it would have failed due to much power. Now I did the same thing as the gentleman did in the video. Soldered a zener diode in. Now the back lights come on for 2 secs and shuts off! I checked the zener diode and it's good. What now guys?

What was the voltage? Think it would need a 6.2 or 6.8v zener.Never stop learning

Re: Toshiba 46L5200U LED Replacement Help Needed
Sorry for the delay gentlemen, I did not have the zener in backwards, it was actually was 3v where as it needs to be 6volt. Also about 18" of the screen was perfectly lit and the rest was about 25% lit. The paper backing and plexi wasn't Perfectly aligned! I finally got time to break the tv back down and install the new zener diode. Currently I'm trying to get those right! I've replaced the lcd bulbs in 4 different sets, and thought that was kinda a pain in the hip, but this led tv takes the take for being a pain in the hip! Be very cautious and rack the assembly out another table as you dissasemble the set! Also reference the youtube vid as you do the reassemble. As the paper backing and plexiglass has to be aligned perfect! Thanks for all the help with this set, I just hope I can get the dang thing back together correctly. :-/Last edited by Treydogg77; 09-29-2015, 10:04 PM.

Re: Toshiba 46L5200U LED Replacement Help Needed
After putting the tv back together the diode broke loose, and shorted 5 LEDs out. That puts me back to square one again... I've searched and searched the web for a replacement LED strip, and haven't had any luck. On a last ditch effort I posted an ad on Alibaba for the LED strip. The part number that I used to research the led strip is LJ64-03495A. If I get a hit off that site I will post a link to where badcap members can purchase them. Once again I would like to thank everyone!

Re: Toshiba 46L5200U LED Replacement Help Needed
More bad news for this model. Here is a link from the Toshiba forum....
http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Televis...nt/td-p/528349
I haven't found any new led assemblies for these and it looks like a partial repair of any current strip will be a temporary solution because it's likely that more LEDs have already been stressed. However a low (< 60) backlight setting is allowing two 46L5200U models to stay on that I have worked on. The first one with one shorted LED I added a 6.2v zener to the wire for that string near the plug on the LED driver board. The second one had no shorts but would stay on in the Movie mode (lower backlight, brightness, and contrast).

Re: Toshiba 46L5200U LED Replacement Help Needed
Hello there.
Any advice on the replacement of a LED. I have a samsung 60" tv with only one dead led. I put another one that look physically the same but comes from a 32" tv. It worked but not sure for how long. Any idea if it will last ?
Thank you

Re: Toshiba 46L5200U LED Replacement Help Needed
It probably will last if you turn down the backligts (NOT BRIGHTNESS) down so the drive current will be less.Never stop learning
