Hello CapLeaker,
How would one go about reprogramming the Flash IC, where could you locate the firmware. Please could you tell me how you came to that conclusion. I'm still learning and have just returned to TV servicing after many many years and firmware in TV's is all new to me .
Thanks in anticipation.
First you need an eeprom programmer with software. Then you need to buy a new eeprom (digikey or something. Then you need a .bin file for your TV that you flash on the eeprom. Then swap the old eeprom with the new eeprom and you are back in business. It's a pain in the rear end to do and not worth it for a single TV, unless you see as at "educational".
Things have changed from the old days, that's for sure. Youtube something like tv eeprom repair...
Hello CapLeaker,
I could purchase a new EEprom from Ebay, they are available. I think it's an SPI device so I can probably get someone I know to program it or do it myself if I was really desperate. The.BIN file, now that's something I cannot see a way past and have no idea where to find a copy of it for this TV.
Things have changed a lot since the old days of TV servicing an it is currently a steep learning curve.
That was a slightly odd fault glad a power supply solved it as it could of possibly off been the main board or eeprom glad you got it right the first time.
