Philips 42PFL8404H works and then doesn't

Just finished testing the TV (connected to the PC via VGA) and the symptoms are the following:
the TV worked for about 5 minutes then the picture cut out with an audible bang from the speakers. After maybe 15 seconds the picture came back. However, 5 minutes later the same thing happened all over again. Finally, it stayed on for about 15 minutes until I manually turned it off via remote.

However, now it refuses to display output from the PC or anything else for that matter. It shows the PHILIPS splash screen then goes black and the white LED is blinking. After a while it goes to solid red and stays that way.

I inspected the power supply and all caps look fine but could be dry?

    What should I look for?

    Cheers

Philips 47PFL4606 Powers on, works normal then powers off after a minute
        by simwalsh
        Hi,
I am new to this forum and have searched for some answers with problems similar to mine.
Philips TV powers on as normal for about a minute or less then click and no power at all not even standby light. If i disconnect from mains and reconnect it will power on again but for a shorter time. Once i leave it disconnected from main for a longer time it will power on for a longer period the next time.

It sounds like a power supply issue?

I have the board out and want to run some tests. Not sure what i should be doing but i put a 1k resistor across SB and +5v...

Dell ATX PSU won’t start, but forcing it works fine?
        by CapLeaker
Got a case of something new weird at work. There is an old 2nd gen Intel i3 in an old “Pizza box” shell that has a small form factor power supply. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures and model number off it.

Anyway, I get to work and get to look at this computer. Standby LED on the PSU is on, but the computer won't start. Hmm o.k. take the battery out of the main board try again, nothing. O.k. then… unplug the power supply from the main board and put in a full size ATX PSU (yeeeesss! Exact that blown Powerman IP that I fixed a while back), plug it in and the old...

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo
        by G33RT
Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) USB-C Port Issue – Only Works in One Orientation (CC Line Problem?)
        by rounin
        Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

        🛠 Original Issue
        The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

Kenwood SW-505D no sound issue and pops from time to time when it works
        by ex250
        Hello mates,

I bought this subwoofer a few days ago used and blind and it works erratically, as far as I could see, it has been tampered with, the speaker is not the original one and of 8 Ohm when it should be of 4, and there are some welds like reworked by the boards.

It doesn't have much power (expected more from it) and it distorts if you increase the volume over the middle, maybe it's because of the high impedance of the speaker. The problem is that it has sound when it wants, the led panels all work correctly, you can hear the power relay on power on, but right now...
