    Sharp Aquos LC-42D43U

I have a 42 inch Sharp LC-42D43U tv that is exhibiting some issues with producing images. I did my research here on badcaps before posting. I believe i have identified the issue on the T-CON board. The 14 channel gamma buffer chip is bad and needs to be replaced. I came to this conclusion by measuring all the input and output voltages to this circuit.
The inputs to the circuit were
    1 12.95
    2 10.29
    3 9.56
    4 8.87
    5 8.53
    6 7.48
    7 7.28
    8 6.43
    9 6.22
    10 4.93
    11 4.51
    12 3.76
    13 2.96
    14 0.006

and the outputs of the circuit were

    GM1 12.93
    GM2 10.27
    GM3 13.84
    GM4 1.56
    GM5 13.7
    GM6 11.8osc
    GM7 7.39
    GM8 13.84
    GM9 12.92
    GM10 11.89
    GM11 4.29
    GM12 13.84
    GM13 3.08
    GM14 13.84

    VGH 21.5
    VGL -5.7
    VDD 3.32
    VREF 12.95
    VGHP 23.78
    VDA 13.85

The GM6 is actually moving around quite a bit. I didn't have a oscilloscope on hand to look at it but it should be a DC value.
I have included a picture of the TV operating and I am sure it is a bad gamma chip on the T-CON board but I am worried about the two white vertical bars on the right side. Are those white bars typical of a bad gamma buffer or is that more indicative of another issue?

Your GAMMA Reference Voltages are all over the place, and the way the image looks, yes, you do have bad T-CON due to bad GAMMA IC U6: AS-15.

How about the white bars on the right though? Are the white bars a indicator of bad tabs or driver ICs?

The bars are not caused by T-CON board, you can try flexing the panel to see what happen to the board. it can be bad tab boding or bad connections on the ribbon cable between the LCD panel and the T-CON.

          Re: Sharp Aquos LC-42D43U

I replaced the AS15 chip. I tested the voltages on the board before I put the TCON board back into the TV and all the voltages were now correct. I powered the TCON with a current limited power supply at 5 Volts. It only takes approximately 30mA at 5 volts. So the gamma buffer circuit now works and all the colors on the TV are correct. You can see the image below and see that the picture colors are now correct but I am still left with two vertical bars on the right hand side.

Next i tried pushing on the ribbons from the panel to the board but no luck. So next question is what should I try? Can i take a look at the signals to this board ? more specifically BR0 BR1 BG0 BG1 BB0 BB1 BCLK? I have a oscilloscope, I could check these signals and make sure they are at least valid. Anything else that I should check?

Sharp Aquos LC-70C6400U Half Screen Dark
            by scubacamper
I found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display...

Sharp Aquos Lc-80LE757U flashing Sharp on screen when plugged in
            by sefoster
I have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...

Sharp Aquos LC-40UG7252E LCD TV burn in?
            by jonah1024
            Hello!

I'm a few days old into this TV screens repair universe so please bear with me.

Recently, and all of a sudden my 40” 4K Sharp Aquos LCD TV turned on with colors all smudged in some places on the screen that remain like that even without any kind of video source. I do have image but the colors are smudged/tinted/ washed out in patches as per defects. This to me looks similar to burn in but I’m shore this is not an OLED.

            - I did the classic unplug and hold power button to discharge the caps but it didn't help.
            - I did a factory reset as well...

            Sharp Aquos LC-60LE635E three blinks
            by klassic
            Hi community,

I will describe my problem with a TV in those short following terms to be the most precise :

            What i have :
            Sharp Aquos LC-60LE635E
            power board DPS-162KP-1
            main logic board QPWBXF733WJN2

            symptoms :
white led light logo at startup,
after 2 minutes, blinking 3 times a row, repeating
no backlight (and apparently no picture, checked panel with flashlight)
            no startup sound

            powerboard investigations :

            1-2 PNL : 0v
            3-4 GND
            5-6-7-8 UR : 13.15v

Sharp Aquos LC-32LE600E, No 12v as no PNL_POW
            by foxyUK
Can anyone help me diagnose this? Almost not worth bothering with, but it has 'sentimental value' for the owner. I'm no TV technician, but dabble a bit.
The TV has standby power but no reaction at all to switching on or reboot steps, No flashing lights or response to menu button. All voltages on the power board are correct apart from missing voltage on pin 12 of CN7003.
There is 13 v on U7053 but no 3v signal to switch it on. I don't really understand whether the 3v should come from U7401 in the standby control area, or (as suggested elsewhere) from the mainboard via pin 12....
