      Thank you.

Sorry for the late response, didn't have time to work on it and will go on with it this weekend and do some measurements as suggested and post it here :-).

No luck to force on either the main power supply or the backlights following the method budm provided on the post #7 (use 500~1K resistor between POWER ON/OFF pin 18 and the STBY pin 16 and then another resistor of the same value between BLU ON/OFF pin 4 [instead of 14, right?] and and STBY pin 16). See the photos attached here.

Also, here are the measurements on cn802 pins:

        pin 1 D12V= 1.24 drops to 0
        pin 3 D12V= 1.24 drops to 0
        pin 5 D12v = 1.24 drops to 0
        pin 7 gnd = 0
        pin 9 gnd = 0
        pin 11 d5.3 = 0.32 drops to 0.21
        pin 13 d5.3 = 0.32 drops to 0.21
        pin 15 vamp = 3.21 drops to 0.27
        pin 17 vamp = 3.21 drops to 0.27

        Pin 2 det = 0
        pin 4 BL = 0
        pin 6 pwm = 3.96 drops to 1.99
        pin 8 h-sy = 0.32 drops to 0.22
        pin 10 gnd = 0
        pin 12 gnd = 0
        pin 14 d5.3 = 0.32 drops to 0.2
        pin 16 5.3 sb = 5.34
        pin 18 ps = 1.21 drops to 0

It looks like something wrong with the PSU board, if anyone can let me know which part (capacitors?) I need to check, that would be helpful.

Thanks in advance for any inputs.

          Re: Samsung un40c6300 relay clicking

          "pin 4 BL = 0". Your post #4 shows pin4 BL = .068 with connector in place.
"pin 18 ps = 1.21 drops to 0". Your post #4 shows pin 18 ps = 3.2V with connector in place.
Are you sure you count the pins correctly? No way you can have 0V with the resistors connected, it has to be errors.
It looks like you count the pins wrong.

Thanks for the response budm and sorry for not being able to respond in time.

            Here are few clarifications:
            1. #4 post is rustover's and I just copied the format of the pins ;-)
            2. I measured the voltages with mainboard (video board) connected instead of the resistors.
            3. Regarding the pin#s, I measured from the other end (to the mainboard), sorry for the confusion. (The pictures you marked really make sense)

Do you mind letting me know which part I need to check? Thanks a lot.

              Re: Samsung un40c6300 relay clicking

Well, since you count the pin wrong then you need to attach the resistors to the correct pins first to find out if the power supply and backlights circuit are OK or not.

thanks for the response. Just an update that finally solved the problem by purchasing a replacement PSU board from buyqual.

The value can be from 500 ~1000 Ohm range, power rating 1/4, or 1/2W will be fine.

I still have this TV, needs a mainboard. I don't feel like, spending like $80-130 for a board.

One there for 63 bucks, has a make offer option, 63 seems like too much for a 40 inch tv, I'd make an offer about 30, that's plenty in today's market.

I saw that, but first I need to make sure that the screen is still intact. It went through three moves. I don't believe, that the seller will let it go, for that cheap.

He might not, I don't think he'll move it for 63 tho, when you can buy a new tv that size for 200 or under.

I have one of these UN40c6300 model on my bench now. power board is simply dead. I found a bad MOSFET ic QM401 that runs the 5.3v line at pins 11,13 & 14 Connector to main board its only outputting 3.6V. Hoping this will fix it. PArt # is AO4498EL. Obselete part, Replacing it with a AO4468. Wish me luck.

Samsung TV won't turn on ... keeps cycling the power relay on & off

                                        Hi All,
First time posting here ... my name is Kevin but my friends call me Journey.
I have a Samsung 75" LCD model UN75RU8000FXZA that I don't remember the original fault other than it wouldn't power up anymore.
After it sat for many month's I decide to look at it again. The motherboard seemed to have power regulation issues. After much fussing I decided to just get a new MB.
It came a few days ago and I installed it now just cycles the power relay on and off ... when on the backlights light up and then dim and then relay kicks off and the whole things starts again....
