have a toshiba 32HL95 that the sound quit working on it, sounds like a typical issue with the audio IC but man this thing has a tons of boards and they are all buried behind one another. Can anyone tell me where the IC is at? I'm going to try a reset but I've heard that is a temporary fix if it works at all.

Re: Toshiba 32HL95 No Audio - Where is Audio IC?
I will have to look through the diagram. All you have to do is just to trace back the connection from the speaker connectors as shown in the diagram, which should then be connected to the power amplifiers.
The problem may also be the audio processing circuit not the output circuts.Never stop learning

Re: Toshiba 32HL95 No Audio - Where is Audio IC?
yeah I followed those back and they went to the audio input board and I only saw one chip on the top side of the board but didn't think it was it. Any suggestions on how to test once I locate the chip? I guess for shorts? Hate to scrap this tv but not really worth buying whole board. My repair success ratio is getting lower lately. My first 3-4 were simple now I'm stuck with 4 I can't diagnose :-(

Re: Toshiba 32HL95 No Audio - Where is Audio IC?
So you lost sound from both speakers, then it has to be something that is common to both channels. You can check and verify if the ICs are getting the proper Voltages first.
Do you have proper tools to do SMD repair? You can also look up the spec sheet of the IC to tell you what the IC is for.
BTW, did you verify that the speakers setup in the on screen user menu is not set to off?Never stop learning

Re: Toshiba 32HL95 No Audio - Where is Audio IC?
yeah I went through the menu to look for that but I will confirm one more time before I spend more time on it. I have an smd workstation and usually dont have a problem removing/replacing. Once I locate the proper ic I'll test the voltages, thanks.

The TV also has TOSLINK Digital out that you can see if you get the sound from there, you will need an adapter though.Never stop learning

Re: Toshiba 32HL95 No Audio - Where is Audio IC?
Well, you are going to need tool to look for the missing signals, but at this point you should make sure first that the circuits have all the needed and the correct Voltages for the circuit to work.Never stop learning
