    Lg 42pc1da

I have one of these plasma beasts. I got it for free, with no remote or power cord. I found a compatable power cord and plugged it in. Without touching anything, there was a click, the white LED at bottom center blinked a few times, then another click and the LED was red. This all took place within 3-4 seconds. That's all the TV will do. I pulled the back cover off (I waited long enough for the caps to discharge) and examined the boards. All the capacitors look fine, none are bulged indicating a rupture. I checked all the fuses on the boards with my multimeter, found one bad fuse on the ZSUS board. I've done some researching online and a majority of the "how to" vids on youtube and links are about changing the caps.
So, this is a 42 inch plasma TV that so far has cost me nothing, would be a nice TV to have, is it worth time/effort to troubleshoot further and see what it needs to make it work? What do you guys think?
For the record, it's an LG 42PC1DA-UB, date of manufacture 2006....
I appreciate any tips and help guys, thank you!

In my opinion it is not worth the time, unless you are interested in learning what makes it tick and how to repair it.

Blown fuse on the zsus likely indicates the ic under the large heatsink (IPM) needs replacing - not easily done without the right tools.

Even as it is it should boot and have a shitty pic but you have nothing, indicating there is something else wrong, maybe power supply caps maybe something more insidious.

THEN when you get it repaired you might find the thing to have wicked maldischarge which may or may not be curable.

On top of that the IPM's cannot be had new so a used replacement puts your newly repaired set on borrowed time.

All that being said I will say when working properly they throw up a nice pic

Dial Cord Hell! Radio Shack SW-100 (Venturer 2959, Rhapsody RY-610)
        by vestaviascott
I'm looking for the dial cord winding settings for this radio!

I spend most of a whole day yesterday trying to figure this out. I just need to know how many turns for the tuning knob stylus to get me started, then how many on the lower and upper bobbins on the first cord pulley (there are two on either side of the tuning band area).

The dial cord system has a central gear where the dial cord spring and stay is, then the tuning knob stylus and two small rollers each with a small and a larger bobbin holder. I finally figured out how to wind the cord on those bobbins...

Lenovo Thinkcentre Turns On When Power Cord Plugged in
        by Zentech
I got a Lenovo Thinkcentre MT-3218 that when I plug the power cord, the computer turns on. The power button seems to work just fine. When I press it the computer turns off, and when I press it again, it comes back on. But when I unplug the power, and plug it back again, it turns the computer on... does anyone have an idea what might be causing this strange behavior. Could this be the power supply or a bad contact on the power button?
        thanks
PS: everything else on the computer works fine

Asus VG248QE won't power on / purple light
        by gamartinelli
        Hello,

I have an Asus VG248QE that all suddenly stopped working. Everything was fine, I had my PC connected to the HDMI port and never had any issues. Then I decided to plug a laptop in the DisplayPort (USB-C to DP cable). It worked fine for a few hours, I left, at some point the monitor went to sleep mode and when I came back and moved the mouse monitor didn't wake up. The power button lights up in blue when the signal is good and amber when in sleep mode / no signal turned purple (first time I saw that). Did some research but couldn't find a way to bring my monitor back to life....

Obtaining Replacement AC Adapter & Cord for Sony DVD Player
        by Giacomo Siffredi
        Hello!

I am trying to obtain a replacement AC power cord and accompanying adapter for a Sony DVP-S560D DVD Player. There are several identifying numbers on the existing cord: The cylindrical portion bears the name & number: TDK ZCAT2132-1130; The "gasket" portion bears two numbers: VM3073 and 282; and the yellow adapter which plugs into the power supply board bears the name: AMP.

Where or which types of online/retail stores might I obtain a replacement AC cord for this unit? Thank you for your assistance!...

Bad mains power causing TV malfunctions?
        by chopduel
        Hi,
I've been living in the same apartment for about 5 years now, and moved into it with my old Samsung plasma TV (PS51F5500).
Ever since we've moved in, we would sometimes see strange power-cycling behavior. For example:
        • TV would randomly turn off then back on.
        • TV would turn off and the LED light would blink for a while (over a minute sometimes) until eventually it went back to a regular off state and could be turned on
        • Sometimes it would require disconnecting the mains cord from the TV, waiting several minutes, then putting it back in and turning the TV back on. This had limited
