Re: Obtaining Replacement AC Adapter & Cord for Sony DVD Player
Thank you all for the super prompt replies!
Perhaps I didn't make myself clear regarding the Power Supply Board. I am not looking to replace it. I am in search of the AC cord with accompanying yellow plug bearing the name AMP for the reasons surmised by @eccerr0r....
This is exactly the situation. I found this DVD Player curbside awaiting electronic recycling pickup. Aside from the already severed AC cord, this unit may be a perfectly functional unit. But safety first...

Obtaining Replacement AC Adapter & Cord for Sony DVD Player
Hello!
I am trying to obtain a replacement AC power cord and accompanying adapter for a Sony DVP-S560D DVD Player. There are several identifying numbers on the existing cord: The cylindrical portion bears the name & number: TDK ZCAT2132-1130; The "gasket" portion bears two numbers: VM3073 and 282; and the yellow adapter which plugs into the power supply board bears the name: AMP.
Where or which types of online/retail stores might I obtain a replacement AC cord for this unit? Thank you for your assistance!...

Re: Sylvania LD320SS8 - Power Cycling
Hey Dick Barton,
Upon examining the board, there appears to be widespread burn throughout. The requested pictures are attached herewith. I should note that over the two years I have been using this TV, there has been an apparent burn in the panel in the upper-left portion of the screen and extending toward the middle. Since it only dimmed and did not distort the image in the affected areas, I pretty much disregarded it. Any chance there is a correlation between the burn on the board and the burn in the screen?...

Sylvania LD320SS8 - Power Cycling
Hey Guys,
I have a second-hand Sylvania LD320SS8 circa November 2007 which has been in my service for about two years. Recently it has developed a power cycling problem in which the TV can operate normally for either two minutes or two hours. Then suddenly, the screen distorts into vertical green lines and there is an audible screech which lasts about two seconds. After which, the set cycles off and restarts. Once it turns back on, it functions normally until it does this again.
I have removed the back and examined the boards. I am attaching some pics as well. It...

BIZARRE Incident Causes Magnavox DVD Player/Recorder To Cease Functioning
Hello!
I purchased a Magnavox MWR10D6 DVD Player/Recorder second-hand earlier this year. It worked absolutely fine up until two nights ago. The circumstances under which it ceased working are, in my view, beyond bizarre. It is my hope some members here might help me to understand what happened, and how, if possible, I may repair this.
I have a three-tier OSB television stand. On the top-tier, I have a CRT television. On the second-tier, I had three components: A late-model VCR directly on the shelf, the Magnavox DVD Player/Recorder directly on top of the VCR, and...

Re: Samsung LN26A450C1D Powers On And Off... And That's Pretty Much It
Please bear with me, as I am somewhat of a novice at this, and I want to do this as right as possible.
I'm attaching a picture with the area circled which I believe you are advising me to check. Please verify if this is correct.
The PSU board with the capacitors was recently replaced, so I doubt the capacitors on that board would be bad....

Re: Samsung LN26A450C1D Powers On And Off... And That's Pretty Much It
Okay, I only observed two such voltage regulators fitting the description and both were on the same board. Per the testing instruction link authored by Badcaps you provided to me earlier, these are the results:
First, both of these VRs are manufactured by Sipex.
IC1001 -> pcb designation
SPX1587AT -> line 1 of the IC
0830L0910 -> line 2 of the IC
pin 1 = 1.42
pin 2 = 2.62 (rapidly changing values)
pin 3 = 4.94
TAB = 2.68 (rapidly...

Re: Samsung LN26A450C1D Powers On And Off... And That's Pretty Much It
Hey Tom,
I have my digital multimeter and am ready to test. Before I do though, please verify that I will be grounding in the correct area and that these are the voltage regulators I should test. I am attaching a picture depicting the target areas on the boards....

Re: Samsung LN26A450C1D Powers On And Off... And That's Pretty Much It
Hey Tom66,
I reseated that cable both ends and checked the integrity of the pins and ribbon cable. I also reseated the other two connections on the main board. Unfortunately, the screen display remains unchanged.
I should add that when I press "Menu", the streaked image gets considerably brighter. Pressing "Menu" again returns it to its normal brightness.

Re: Samsung LN26A450C1D Powers On And Off... And That's Pretty Much It
Hey again,
I've examined the boards and observed no bulging or leaking capacitors and saw nothing else that indicated a burn-out or other suspicious cause of failure. The caps on the PSU were replaced per the Samsung class-action. Unfortunately, the TV still responds as I described earlier with the horizontal streaking, except it now is more responsive when the power button is depressed.
As before, when commands are delivered to the TV via the bezel or remote, the screen darkens...

Samsung LN26A450C1D Powers On And Off... And That's Pretty Much It
Hey All!
Here is my first troubleshooting post, so hopefully this is a fixable problem
Came into possession of a Samsung LN26A450C1D. Don't know much about the history except cosmetically the TV was well cared for. The first time I plugged it in and turned it on, there was the short Samsung power-on tune with the logo. Because I had no program source, there was no signal to replicate. I accessed the menu, but the print was jumping erratically and had a grayish ghost-like appearance. Turned it off. Turned it back on. This time the menu was inaccessible and there...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi Everybody!
I am new here on Badcaps.net. I registered and joined this website forum because I want to learn more about electronics and television repair. I have some knowledge of the field because my family has been in the business.
I also have some TVs and other equipment I would like assistance with diagnosing and repairing, if this remedy is reasonably possible.
I look forward to my time here and getting to know many of you.
