Insignia NS-19E320A13 LCD TV tuner issues

This small Insignia LCD TV (NS-19E320A13) has a tuner which behaves oddly when the television starts cold. I put an old analog antenna on the TV before turning it ON for the first time in several months. Then I used the menu to scan for broadcast channels, both digital and analog. It found 3 channels, digital, and found no channels for for analog. Well, that sux, because the 3 channels were actually the same channel with three selections, 64.1, 64.2, and 64.3. I tried to manually tune for 2 very strong local stations, but nothing was found. After 20 minutes being ON, I tried to scan again, and it found 8 channels (including the 2 strong stations). I waited another 20 minutes, and it found 14 channels. After another 20 minutes it found 15 channels, and that is the most I can get. Why is it taking so long to find digital broadcast channels?

Maybe the supply to the tuner has bad caps. Check for obvious bulging ones first then use a hair dryer selectively to see if you can narrow where the heat has the most effect.

maybe try heating the tunerboard/psu up with a hair dryer for about 4 mins before you turn it on if it finds loads of channels straight away there maybe a bad component on that board

edit! above post beat me i was still typing.

Okay, say it is a bad tuner. Can it still operate as digital cable TV? (I no longer have a cable signal to test it. But I do have a D2A converter box.) As long as there is power to the TV, as is normal, perhaps the warm up won't be critical. I know this, no way do I have the skills or equipment to remove and install a tuner. Probably has at least 20 pins in close proximity. Why do designers place the caps so close you can hardly remove the tuner covers?

The TV was off for several hours overnight. When I turned it on, all the previously acquired channels were available. Reception-wise I am not getting a favorite channel that I know is broadcasting. It just so happens that there is an old T-type antenna available which extends up into the attic (much higher than current antenna). I have an ancient '2-wire to coax' adapter which I could use to connect to the digital TV. Would this T antenna be better than the RCA rabbit ears I am using now?

            Anthem MRX500 - no sound

            Dear Electronics Experts:

I have the following problem I am trying to troubleshoot. Unfortunately, I have contacted Anthem themselves and even a local distributer but I am not having much luck. Also, I have scoured the internet and unable to obtain a service manual. The Anthem service rep has also replied that he is unable to provide me with any service documentation. I have performed numerous searches on the internet and cross-referenced a few other AV receiver makers (Denon, Marantz, Onkyo) and found certain similarities to block diagram...

            Samsung PN51F8500AFXZA broke off the tuner's F connector, can't get tuner de-soldered
            by DXseekerMO
I can hear Fred Sanford now...."YOU BIG DUMMY".....I pulled the "F" connector out of the tuner by accident. The tuner number is BN40-00248B. Low and behold I had a scrap board with tuner number BN40-00248A. Although the tuner is different (according to Encompass.com) it's footprint on the board is exactly the same as the 248B so I decided to de-solder the tuner off the scrap board to see what I was getting in to.

As you can see in the picture the terminals and solder pads are super small. No matter what I tried I could not get either the terminals or support...

Denon AVR-X3600H No sound even to pre outs in direct analog mode. Help please!
            by FuzzyOwl
Hi, I have a Denon AVR-X3600H I'm trying to repair. I have no electronics repair experience but I have a multimeter, service manual and a will to fix it (https://device.report/m/d5de8c00e617...f63147aba9.pdf)

Everything seems to work except for no sound even through the pre outs. However I will get sound using Zone 2 pre outs.

Only digital symptom I can tell is it will soft lock when in the Speakers/Test Tone menu and be unable to adjust +/- db during the test tone.

I've followed the trouble shooting guide, audio check...

SHARP LC-60LE640X display flashing white noise patches and totally dropping out randomly
            by dmcabs
            Hey guys,

I have a SHARP LC-60LE640X TV that has suddenly developed an intermittent fault of flashing white noise patches (appears like an Analog tuner off signal) and then totally dropping out.
This model I believe is also known as LC-60LE600U or LC-60LE640U in other regions.

FYI, a long time ago I was a component level repair tech for all consumer electronics and IT equipment.
I'm a bit rusty but still have ability to dig right down.

I measured all power supply lines and checked them for AC ripple voltage. Noting any lines that exceeded about...

Marantz SR5007 popping on volume change and mute in Direct Mode
            by BigOof
            Hi,

I bought a used Marantz SR5007 and it's giving me some issues that I can't seem to really place. It functions well in most settings, ARC mostly works, it has no issues driving my speakers in any of the digital input modes, but I'm having issues running analog inputs in direct or pure direct mode. For some reason in this mode there's distortion for every volume increment I give it, but once the volume is stable it has no issues. Muting creates a loud pop, switching to another source also causes a pop and so does turning off the amp in that mode. Again, no issue in the digital modes....
