    Lg 42lf65 wont turn on straight after turning off,
    anyone had the problem before that might be able to help.
    first thing in morning i can plug the tv in and it works fine but if i turn it off it wont turn back on,

      Hello, i have some issues with my laptop Lenovo Y700-17ISK (motherboard BY511 NM-A541), it started when i turn on the laptop, but the lcd wont turn on, i then connected it via hdmi to tv and screen was ok. So i thought maybe lcd stripe is faulty, i removed the bottom cover, disconnected main battery, reset the cmos by disconnecting battery for 1 min, then slighty move the lcd stripe. Conncted power supply and tuned on my laptop, the lcd turn on, it started to load os, then it turn off, after a second it turn on, then after like 3 seconds turn off again, and so on.       hello! hope you are all well. i have a macbook pro a1425 and it won't turn on. i took it to the service center and they said it's fine, it turned on 2 times and then it wouldn't turn on. on the power supply there is a yellow dot that is charging and turns green when charging but when i turn it on it doesn't turn on. i opened it and saw on the motherboard that 2 elements are missing, i am attaching the photos for you to understand better.

      i got this laptop with no power issue....i flashed the bios and laptop can turn on and use normally....but when i shut it down and rest for few minute (2-3 minutes), it wont turn on....i have to flash bios again...any idea what is the problem?...when i shutdown and suddenly press power button to turn on, it will turn on normally....problem happen when i rest the laptop 2-3 minutes after shutdown, it will not turn on....i need to flash bios again

      Hello:

      I have both these laptops that appeared to have the same fault so I thought I would have a go at replacing the PCH as something to learn, they both are using the same PCH.


      I started on the ACER:

      Up on connecting power no signs of life but current is consumed from the bench power supply and the PCH is hot.
      All the caps on the top of the PCH are showing 0 ohms and the 3.3v rail is shorted.

      I followed the videos from Sorin, Electronics Repair School on Youtube heating from the bottom to install. I practised on around 10 scrap...
