Panasonic TC-P4232C has 5v Standby but no response to pressing power button

this looks to be a really nice plasma tv made in 2011 so its not too heavy, and only has 4 boards. the power supply, the motherboard, and an inverter master slave combo. i can see the pin for 5v standby reading 5v when plugged in but pressing power button does nothing and i see no other voltage on any other pins.
can i trick the plasma tv to turn on the power supply and backlight with a 1k resistor between 5vsb and PS_ON just like with other tvs?
only problem is there are like 4 different pins that end in _ON and none of them say PS_ON so i cant be sure which is what.

would really like to get this "newer" plasma tv back in shape...ive heard a lot of good things about the plasma's picture quality but i havent got one working yet because they are usually just so heavy and have way too many boards to bother with. this one seems different...

for starters you're mixing plasma TV terms with LCD technology. there's no inverter/backlight/slave/master combos.

you have the P board(PSU), SN board which is a Sc,SD,SU combo, a SS board, and A board(mainboard).

I'm going to assume these may suffer similar failures as the FHD models with the Sc/SN boards shorting. that can cause the TV not to turn on.

If you have a multimeter and know how to check for short circuits I would disconnect the power cable at the SN2 connector on the SN board and check across the 2 pins to see if shorted. I'd also disconnect the SS11 connector and check across pins 1-3 and see what you find.

FHD Pan. sets are (Of This age) Just as CRAP as the HD ones!

It'll be the SC/SN board that has many shorted/faulty devices, unfortunately, some rather tiny (Difficult to identify and change) parts too.

--IF you dont get 'em all first time--Then all your work and new parts goes Bang at turn on, sometimes leaving you with many More dead bits to change!

      Whats the blink-code telling you?

IF you have little/no experience with Plasma (As it appears from your O/P,) then best bet is to find which board/s are faulty and replace em complete. IF the SN/SC is dead, then chances are the SS board is too. Changing only one will kill the new one.....

PLASMA Technology is TOTALLY Different to any LCD/LED type, and takes quite some time to get your head around......

LG 60PN6500 Plasma with standby, but won't power up.
        by XCon
Symptom is TV has standby, I get relay click, voltage rails come up, but no screen and TV shuts down after 5 seconds. If I disconnect the Z from the y sus, the unit stays powered up and I can read voltages.

So I've read the two other threads on this TV and I can confirm the Y-Sus #EAX64789501 does not have diode or resister failure. Did not see any fractured solder joints on the transformer or anywhere else. All power boards have slight discoloration on the hot spots.

The board in question is EAX64789601, Z board. I have 208 going to Y Sus, 5v standby. Pin 5 on P174 connector...

Panasonic TC-P60S30 - no standby voltage
        by BobbyMJ
        Hi All,
Wanting to learn some electronics repair skills.
I found a non working Panasonic TC-P60S30 and this is my first project / attempt.

So far I have found a blown cap on the main power supply board.
After replacing it there's still no standby power.

Poked around and found a resistor on the PSUB power supply board that measures open.

An online resistor calculator shows this is a 93k ohm resister.

        My questions:

        Is that correct, 93k ohms?
        Is it a fusible resistor?
Lastly, how do I know what wattage?...

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
        by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ85U No screen No blinks on red power light
        by Alicat
        Hello,

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

        Model number is TH-50PZ85U

Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

I also hear a few clicks.

I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...

Panasonic P42S30 Plasma - Pink sparkles
        by Lintesir
My parents' Panasonic P42S30 died recently, and they asked me to have a look at it. I was able to identify the SN-board as the culprit, as it was shorted. After removing Q401, Q402, Q421 and Q422 the short was gone, so I replaced these components and that got the TV working again. However, when testing the tv a bit, I noticed quite bad pinkish sparkles on some colors. For instance the greyish bar on this forum seems to trigger it quite badly. I made a fullscreen test picture with only that color, with the below result.

There is about a 5cm high region at the top without any sparkles,...
