BTW, you also split those 3 dead strips in half and connect then one at a time to one of the two bottom string to help you narrow down which half of the strip is dead.

Re: Lg smart tv 47ln5700 HELP WITH BAD LEDS.

I wasnt sure if anyone actually replied to this post, because I never got a email to say there was a response. Kinda weird for a forum. Usually you get a notification email when you have a response in the thread. Either way I appreciate your help. I actually just got a new R2 strip and put it in where the two LEDs were out. It still wont light up, and those rows are out. I actually took my multi-meter and put it on ohm mode and started to test the contacts around the TV. I actually found 4 more leds that are out in the 3 series. I just want to make sure before I actually buy 3 more strips that is whats wrong. I am going to post a couple pictures of what it looks like when lit up when im testing. I just read that people were saying that many LED's could be out, but it definitely looks like that is whats wrong. The first picture should be where the 3 good rows light up, and then the second picture which is very dim shows where the 4 leds are out. I would totally figure that this is the last of my problems but before I keep dumping money into this TV (which I got for $30) I want to make sure this is the last of what I have to do. If not then I may as well just part this damn thing out. Thanks for the help guys!

BTW I subscribed to this thread... Im a big dummy thats why no notifications...

I think that is only for the L1 and R1, but I believe that user has more than that. Hope that helps.

Also just to let everyone know, I did end up fixing my TV by replacing those bad strips.

Here is what I made work.
              Digi-key part#1416-1526-1-ND
The solder pads underneath the are opposite than the Toshiba/LG
cathode has larger heatsink on new ones I replaced so,
I turned them according to the pads on pcb and then reversed the polarity at connector end.
I could not tell any difference in the picture.Must replace all on that strip or rewire.

Re: Lg smart tv 47ln5700 HELP WITH BAD LEDS.

We have found on Many LG LED Televisions the flat ribbon cable does short out at the bend close to the LED strip due to a bend in this area and heat which melts the coating causing the cable to short to ground

This can be repaired simply by changing the cable or by using independent wires since some use only 6 wires. We have successfully used small gauge wires and soldered the ends to the connector

Re: Lg smart tv 47ln5700 HELP WITH BAD LEDS.

Good afternoon everyone. I'm having a similar issue with a different type of led strip, and am seeking help. I will post here, unless someone thinks I need to start a new thread, but it's the same issue. I have taken my boards out and tested them, and found that diode 016 on the lower left strip is bad. I can buy the individual diodes, but am not experienced in how to replace it. I have spent hours searching for a simple board itself, but haven't found any. What's the best way to replace one of these diodes, or does anyone know where I can just find this part? Been watching ebay for the past year, and haven't come up with anyone selling the part as scrap. The tv is top/bottom lit, so it's different style LED strip than the original poster. I am by no means an electrician, but I am a DIY hobbyist, and if I can fix this easily or with a little finesse, I'd like to do it.

I've attached pictures for reference and as you can see, there's an aluminum strip on the back of the LED strip. My tv is LG 32LE5300.

I believe this is the European version, which is out of stock. I cannot find the part online anywhere.

On the LG ln series sets if you don't replace all the led strips you will be doing again within a year. The leds keep shorting till one of them opens usually. That causes the remaining led's to be in a over voltage state till it stops working. We tried just replacing single strips at first but stopped due to recalls. Since then we have been replaceing complete sets. And its not just lg that has this problem. some models samsung have the same issue and also the cheap sets. Cheap Led's is the Problem

Thanks for the information. I ended up giving up. I hate giving up on things. I instead, parted the tv out, and made enough money to just buy a new one! I sold each individual board, the stand, and the speakers.

They drive the LED at the maximum limit of the spec of the LED which already has poor thermal management , I always tell the people to lower the backlights level down to 50~75% or even less as long as the pictures look good.
Backlights level in VIVID mode is @100%.

                              Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...
