    Thanks for the info!

I found this on ebay. Are these the same?
I also ordered the IGBTs that TW2005 used in his ysus repairs ( FGD4536 ) and see how they work on my sc boards.

I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

Nice imagination although I'm going to stick to the FGD4536 from RS. Those SS boards are no longer available and I've had several fail with the SC and a couple of enquiries from others discovering bad SS after SC replacement.

Not sure if I'd scrap these boards for parts.

Looking at the next gen they used 45F132, maybe they're another option means they're 45A too instead of 30

I dont recommend ordering them because they are a discontinued product and alot of them that are for sale these days are fake.

I took originals from old boards. They are like a gold mine!

Some of the diodes which are shorted on the SC can be found on the SS too. Not sure what to replace them with if I run out of options.

We should make a list of compatible parts for these discontinued lines?

Well they're all going to be obsolete in the near future I'd say. Grab what you can whilst you can from authorised agents.

We could but it'd just get buried in the forum

I already ordered the parts that TW2005 used , cant go back now haha. Worst thing that can happen is that the board says bang again.

Testing IGBT with a meter... especially fgd4536 and 30f131
              by budwich
Read thru lots of posts about fake items so there is great potential for coming across these. Of course, the simple test of the failed units showing a short isn't the point of this post.

I wanted to get some people's experience with "stock they have on hand" to see if the "simple diode test" tells you anything more about the potential for having a good device (ie. maybe not fake) before soldering it to the board.

In diode mode, with the black lead on the emitter, and red on the center pin, the meter should read nothing. The test then is to put the...

Panasonic TX-P42UT30E, IGBTs on the SN board
              by rivetcity
              Hi,

I'm having problems with my plasma Panasonic p42txu32e. The issue started about 12 months ago.

I have a remote controlled main outlet so whenever I turn off the TV set at night, I also switch off the whole power outlet.
It gives me a better feeling to know I don't have 230V on any cables, so my dog can't get hurt if he gets the idea to start chewing on something.

About 12 months ago the TV started to have the following problem: when pressing anything on the RC to get it on, the red led would go off.

              Sometimes it would turn...

I've noticed that there are a lot more listings for these components on Ebay and Amazon. I was wondering if anyone has recently ordered any of them, and if they actually work. I ordered 12 FGD4536 from Italy and 10 30f131 from Amazon. I will post my results when the parts come in.

Plasma Y board IGBT equivalency question
              by Biruslapio
I have two TVs here with both Y-SUS failures, one LG and one Samsung.
The Samsung's Y-main shorted one FGD4536 and one RJP63K2(there are two in parallel)

I have the FGD but I only have one RJP63F3, which is different from the K2, so, can two 30J124 be put in place of two RJP63K2? are they equivalent?

Also for the LG two 30F131 shorted, I have some FGD4536 (the same that are used on the samsung), can they be also be a substitute without issues?

RJP63F3 and K2 are 630V 30A IGBTs, but their rise/fall time and other internal variants differ.

what causes the 30f131 component failure?
              by budwich
I have been reading a bit around the sc card faults and the resulting issues with the 30f131 igbt. I haven't really come across much discussion about the component failure other than the "catastrophic discussion" around fakes. But my query is more towards the original component and the results which see a number in "short condition" failure. Is this caused by "over current" or "over voltage" situations, heating or something else. Is there always a "subtending" reason for the failure or can the failure of the original component be a "sole...
