I have this same model that I have put new LED strips in. The tv worked fine and clearly for about 1 hour, then the image started shifting and had lines in it. Now it is permanent. I have taken photos to demonstrate the shifting from clear, to lines and back again. My next move may be to remove all capacitors on the power board, replace them with fresh ones and try again. Unfortunately I am not sure since it may be the panel. I'm posting for professional advice before I put more time and money into this set. I have a multimeter and soldering iron.Attached FilesComment

it appears that you might have damaged the panel during the effort. :-( If the set has side tabs, you should check those to ensure that the disassembly / reassembly was done correctly and they haven't been "crunched" in the frame some how. IF no side tabs, then perhaps the "tape cutoff" method can be used to save the panel assuming the issue is only on one side.Comment

Just removed the metal frames and re-examined the tabs, they are all along the bottom of the set.Comment

good effort.... it works because the method cuts off signals / voltages going to one side of the panel (that deal with the horizontal picture "elements"). On sets with no side tabs, the drivers are "built in to the glass panel".... by cutting off the "powering", those drivers remain turned off and don't impact the drivers on the opposite side. *Update* For anyone attempting this tape fix for their tv, I found the best results for zero lines in the picture is to skip the first two pins on the cable, then cover the following 5-7 pins. I honestly don't know how many pins I covered, it was trial and error, but it was not more than 11 total. I just know that I stopped immediately and sealed it back up when I had a good result.Comment

Are there any specific guides for this issue and model? For example, cover only the first 5 pins, 6 pins, 7 pins, skip over the first one or two pins etc? I get nervous each time I do this because I'm risking damage to the connector each time I handle it...Comment

I have seen any but in general, it is likely that it is preventing powering going to the side drivers that in this case are built into the panel as opposed to tabs on other types of set. I would suggest not skipping any and keep adding width til the problem goes away. As long as the issue stays related to one side, I think this is your only bet. You might be able to "guess" based on the track traces that are coming towards the connector. With every connected (no tape), no power (not plugged in), get a meter and do a resistance measurement at the test points that you pictured earlier. Compare those measurements with those of the other side... hopefully they exist there in similar fashion. Go from there.Last edited by budwich; 03-03-2020, 07:36 PM.Comment

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)- TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
- Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.
never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.

Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. 5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

I just acquired this 3D LED yesterday and it has horizontal lines on a little more than half of the screen. When I first turn it on it has thin black lines going across that makes the image look serrated, and then shortly after patterns of thicker red lines fade in. If I turn it off and right back on it will reset to just the black lines and the red will again fade onto the screen.
I initially thought tab bonds, but flexing the bezel makes no difference, and the fact the image sort of resets after cycling power is different. I haven't opened it up yet to actually test applying...
