Samsung LCD 52'' FXZA Horizontal White Lines in 1 section only, Scrap or Fix?

I did some research and paid a guy on justanswers for a firm diagnosis. I would like a second opinion before spending $100 on a new main board.

These white lines change to dots between levels when playing COD/ps3/hdmi. Is there any chance this issue is with the panel or do you agree with the tech this is probably a main board problem.

    thank you.

What did the test patterns in the service menu tell you?

Thanks for the reply. Based on the picture, do you agree that its probably NOT the panel and secondly, should I start by replacing the board or Tcon? Does one fail more than the other.

In my humble experience, lines goingnleft right usually equals bad panel lines going up-and-down usually equal bad panel also lines going up-and-down could mean bad main board or T-con, it really depends what the service menu testpatterns tell you they should pin point what exactly is going on for the most part.

Samsung service menu entry, you will need an original remote, with the unit off and remote in hand press in this order MUTE, 1, 8, 2 and power.

This should bring up the service menu, you will need to figure out were the test patterns are as they change from firmware to firmware also DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES on any options with out writing down the original config first, all changes made at the service menu level are permanent and can only be changed by entertaining my the Service Menu again and remembering what the original setting was you changed. Be very cautious when in the SM.

Thanks again for the info. When you say lines going left right, do you mean the lines are shifting from right to left, ie moving across the screen. Or just the appearance of fixed horizontal lines?

Ill order the remote and let you know, hopefully this might help someone else in the future.

I also uploaded another picture, as you can see the lines are only in a certain spot.
