I found this TV in the trash. With all ribbons from the SU, the SD, and the SS disconnected, as well as C11 and C21, the TV powers on with no blinks and powers off as well. Are there any other tests I should perform before I part it out and scrap the chassis?

Re: TC-P50C2 Shattered Screen, want to be sure boards are OK to sell.
I would resistance check the buffers and check for short between the Vfg plates and the buffer outputs, check sc2 for short and I'd also probe all igbts and diodes on the sc and also the ss in these tends to blow so likewise check ss11 for short and do the same and bell out all smd igbt, fets and diodes.
sounds like the p, a and sc are ok with what you've done.
the A,SS and Sc boards should yield some good $$Last edited by tw2005; 03-06-2015, 06:44 PM. -
Re: TC-P50C2 Shattered Screen, want to be sure boards are OK to sell.
Awesome. Thanks. I've got a P50S2 here with ten blinks that uses the same A board. From what I've read, it could be several things causing the ten blink code. Maybe I got lucky, maybe not.Comment

I think you'll find S2 is FHD so no good , c2 HD, connectors won't line up needless to say Hd won't drive FHD panelComment

Re: TC-P50C2 Shattered Screen, want to be sure boards are OK to sell.
bad Sc could be the cause of 10 blink also, 5105 which is similar to the 5081 boards just cut down and fewer componentsLast edited by tw2005; 03-06-2015, 07:25 PM.Comment

Re: TC-P50C2 Shattered Screen, want to be sure boards are OK to sell.
you could easily prove if 10 blink is A by disconnecting sc2,ss11, 3 white ribbons at the A and I always disconnect p35. don't reconnect until all voltage is gone after power cycleComment

Re: TC-P50C2 Shattered Screen, want to be sure boards are OK to sell.
It looks like both sets came with 5105 in some cases but, unfortunately, not this case. SC20 shows shorted. Lots of shorted components on this one so far.Comment

Re: TC-P50C2 Shattered Screen, want to be sure boards are OK to sell.
ok, so we talking the S2 now with shorts? Pretty sure S2 is 5105 SC and C2 is 5063 SC so what do you mean both sets came with 5105 in some cases?Comment

Re: TC-P50C2 Shattered Screen, want to be sure boards are OK to sell.
Sorry, I just saw your reply. Shopjimmy shows 5105 as an option for both TVs depending on what panel was in it. At any rate, I got a solid red LED with everything disconnected as you directed, tw2005. I sold the board and now the buyer wants a refund because he says it doesn't work.Comment

Did suggest probing. So did you mark your board? What error did they start with, what do they have now?Last edited by tw2005; 03-19-2015, 05:46 AM.Comment

I sold the A board. I haven't got a reply back yet regarding the buyer's issue and what may or may not have changed. I've got his phone number. I plan on giving him a call later this morning. He just said it was "dead".Comment

Re: TC-P50C2 Shattered Screen, want to be sure boards are OK to sell.
definitely needs clarification.
I don't sell parts often myself, always fearful they'll misdiagnose, stuff it or be dishonest. touch wood the few i have worked out. Sold a complete set from LG cracked screen, turned out ok but was to a repair shop.
Hope this works out.Comment

Re: TC-P50C2 Shattered Screen, want to be sure boards are OK to sell.
In your opinion, if I get the board back, can I put it in the 50S2 with sc2, ss11, the white ribbons, and p35 all disconnected and the LED lights, doesn't blink, and will allow the set to power on and off as normal, does this tell me that the board is still ok?Comment

Re: TC-P50C2 Shattered Screen, want to be sure boards are OK to sell.
It proves the A board is not dead or producing any error blinks. Won't prove the picture is correct though but you'd be unlucky if that ended up being the case.
The only other thing is the power switch whether it's integrated on the A board or on the front. Agian I'd have to check out the diagrams for C2 and S2 variantsComment

If I remember correctly, they were identical boards. Both had the AV suffix. I've been wrong before though.Comment

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by smic717394Hi,
I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on... -
by ChrissygizmoHello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same... -
by spice_discI'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.
The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...1 Photo -
by ipatchi have an ipad pro 9.7" (1st gen) A1674 where i replaced the screen, but never attached the screen to the frame/chassis (glued down) due to the ipad being previously dropped so the new screen would never fit in the frame properly. so i need flex/bend the chassis to eventually fix the new screen in properly. so i temporarily just applied blue tape around the edges of the screen to keep it in place. when watching videos with the ipad the screen started flicker, so i though maybe the new quasi cheap amz screen i purchased was going out. so i disconnected then reconnected with power still on,...
