LG 50PS3000 not powering up clicking blue/red power light

    Good morning boys and girls,
I'm looking to have a go at fixing an LG 50PS3000-ZB I was given last week.

The symptom is not powering on.
When you press the power switch the power light shines blue and then after a few seconds turns red and there is an audible click from the power board. After another few seconds the light goes back to blue and the cycle begins again. There is no change in the screen at all.
I would like to know if this is a know issue with this set or an un heard of problem.
Thanks for your help in advance

Hey I have an lg TV all and was wondering if when you turn your TV on can you see horizontal lines flickering? Basically I got a TV from my boss and when I got him home and plugged it up there were these flickering lines, mainly green but different colors, but my boss said that the TV had to warm up and then it would go away. Well they haven't went away and it gets really bad at times. I guess it go by brightness cause when the TV goes dark you can't see them flickering except 2 or 3 but the brighter then the more lines. I want to take and get it ficlxed but it seems lime a loose cord or plug inside the TV probably. And there gonna charge me 40 just to look at the TV and then they'll probably screw me over so just trying to fix it myself.

Start a new thread buddy, by the sounds of it you have a bad panel.

          Good morning peeps

I guess this is not a comon/known issue with this set then?
I'll do some voltage checks and report back with results later today. Thanks for the help

I've done some diagnostic checks and I believe the fault lies with the Y sus (As when this is disconected the tv powers on ok but when its conected the tv wont power on) is there any comon failures on these or am I best to just get a replacement board?

              Update.
I have sourced a replacement and replaced the Ysus, this has fixed the power up issue, however I now have no picture just small patches of what looks like static and a buzzing coming from the Zsus area. Is the buzzing related to the now lack of picture? I've rechecked the two ribon cables on the Ysus and they look fine and connected ok. Can anyone help? thanks

You have a common issue with the Z-sus, fix is to replace a few parts on it. Kit is about £20 on eBay.

                  Thanks for that Tom66
I thought it was going to be a bad screen or something terminal picture 1 is what it looked like last night when I turned it on. I did turn it on again this morning picture 2 and there was a very hazy picture I tried to take a picture of it but all I got was my own reflection. I'll try again tonight when its dark.
                  Thanks again Tom66

Ok so I took some more pictures last night (Pics 1&2) I looked into the repair kit for the Zsus (thanks tom66) and found out it replaces parts on the main board to. Now when I looked at my main board (Pics 3&4) it looks like someone has already carried out this repair in the past as the caps have been replaced already with what looks like cheap ones. My question is, is it worth my time fitting good Panasonic caps or should I get the kit and replace all the components.
                    Thanks

I don't think it's worth replacing the caps on the control board TBH. I don't think they are causing this fault. If they were I'd expect the Y-sus to fail a lot more... and it hardly ever fails on these models.
I'd just replace the bits on the Z-sus again (I imagine it's failed once before, it seems to have a design flaw.)

Hi Tom66 Thanks for your reply. I thought as I had a picture the fuse would be ok but as you guessed the fuse had failed thank you. I have now replaced it and I now have a differant issue, the tv is no longer responding when I switch it on the blue comes on and flashes 8 times (I think) before going steady blue. however I have no picture and it now wont respond to the remote or switches. If I disconect the power lead from the Z-sus I get back the poor picture and it responds to the remote...... I'm confused? please help me fix this thanks.

Fixed same one, clicking with Ysus in. Ysus 5v shorted to GND applied 5v with external psu and seen small controller chip smoke which was buried under some glue near a tarfo, stole the same Ic off another board and Ysus and Tv working-until the Zsus shortly blew. Vzbias area failed which is nothing uncommon for this set. Fuck you Lg.

Hi everyone, I have a Nintendo 2DS XL that shows the orange charging light when plugged in, but nothing happens when I press the power button — no blue light, no screen, no sound.

                                  Here's what I've observed:

All ribbon cables are properly connected

Battery is present and in good condition

No reaction even with screens disconnected

There's a visible burn mark / overheating sign on the metal shield, right above the CPU

I’m suspecting an issue with the CPU, PMIC, NAND, or a power...

                                  by TurboTundra
Hi, I am waiting for my uart tool so I can grab an error code and narrow down where my issue is, but I decided to measure capacitors and fuses to insure everything was okay.

The PS5 turns on with a blue light and a beep for 1-2 seconds then turns off. I noticed a grey capacitor measures no voltage on standby or input power. Does this indicate a problem with the capacitor or something down on the line? I’m getting 3.3v on input with the red cap next to the grey one, and 5.2v on input with the red cap further away from the grey cap.

                                  Thank you for any input...

Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...
