    Insignia NS-42P650A11 clicking

okay so my somewhat moderate to middle advanced understanding of plasma TVs and having repaired over a hundred of them in the last five or so years has led me once again to the middle of the road and I'm stumped.

I got this lovely extremely cheaply made Samsung television in from a friend that wanted to know if I could repair it for him. The obvious symptoms are plug it in. The click click click click click and I knew right away that was most likely a shorted ysus or a buffer or possibly a power supply well so it turns out that one before it exploded on the Y sustain buffer board. So I remobed the IC. tested all the other chips and they all test around 4mohm so they're OK

so I did some random checks on the Y sustain board making sure no shorted MOSFETs or fuses are the normal plugged it in and I still get click click click click click. Ok so I went ahead and disconnected the X board and if powered up no more cooking but I lose vs in VA after a few seconds and nothing on the screen. Ok so I disconnect ribbon cable from YS s 2 control board TV stays up and powered. Course nothing on the screen still. So I inspect the X board and found to shorten my sets replace them with parts I had in stock TV powered up and then slowly faded away on vs And VA again .

turns out that I blew the X mosfets again. so I replace the MOSFETs a second time and did some random checks on the board and nothing else it shorted. Apparently if you let the X power up without the ribbon cable connected to the control board it will blow those MOSFETs. This is by far the cheapest piece of crap I have ever seen produced by Samsung. My house is disgraced by letting this thing sit in my living room. I've done random searches on this forum and it appears that the only way to repair this model is to replace the buffer board the Y and the X all the same time due to the fact that nobody has successfully repaired one of these sustain boards before. Sorry for the long rant.

apparently if the Xsus board shorts out it will take out a Ysus board and ysus at the same time but the weird thing is is I can't find anything wrong with the Ysus board. Or the x board for that matter after the Mosfets are replaced and also there is no shorted buffer IC's anymore either. Has anyone successfully repaired any of these boards in the past?

Update. If I leave the ribbon disconnected off the YSUS and leave xsus completely disconnected I have all voltages on YSUS. Ve vscanvs etc. Even though I have no picture is the ysus OK?

ok so I'm a little lost on what could be possibly happening here. My Ysus tests good the Xsus is shorted so I'm leaving that one out of the equation. If the ysus is connected to the power supply and the ribbon cable coming from the Ysus is connected to the control board the power supply comes up and then shuts down meaning the voltages slowly drop off and the control board is flashing. If I leave the ribbon cable off of the control board to the Ysus the power supply will come up and stay up. But if that ribbon cables connected it shuts down any ideas here?

        Re: Insignia NS-42P650A11 clicking

First problem is definitely Xsus related. I plugged it back in leaving the two shorted MOSFETs out of the board and TV powers up and stays on except of course no picture cuz my buffer is not connected but if I connect the buffer power supply shuts down voltages right after power up. I've checked the buffer IC's for shorts and I don't see any however I do have one IC missing that was shorted.

So right now y buffer disconnected ymain connected and X connected and power stays up.

I think I'm going to replace the two bad MOSFETs on the X main again and leave the Y buffer disconnected and see if I still have voltages staying up.

          Hello-
I know this is an older thread, but wanted to add my 2 cents about how I was able to repair my plasma with this model number. I had arcing across the y buffer board and no picture. I tired replacing the caps that were arcing but I'm sure my replacements has the wrong values and I ended up shorting the zmain board.
I ordered a new y buffer board and I ordered a repair kit for the zmain board. I verified that the y sus board (VS) was not shorted to ground like the z board was.
I replaced the buffer first to be sure it was ok, then the z sus board. It is still working and hopefully the repaire was succesful. I'm not sure about this firmware update that the similar Samsung model Requires.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
            • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.

[SOLVED] M1 MacBook Pro clicking sound logic board 5V no power on A2338 820-02020
            by slimmy182
Hello, I bought this Mac from a friend, he said that it simply stop working. The MacBook looks very clean but does not power on, stuck on 5v 0.42A, and sometimes display 5V and 0A (then 0.071A and again 0A).

I opened it looking for some problem, it was not touched before for sure and the board is very clena, no spot of corrosion at all from what I can see. Voltage on multimeter of the board off the case it's the same, 5V 0.42A. But then I noticed this "clicking sound" come from the board ( I attached here the audio file).

Looking on google I found this:...

            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
