    Zsus Substitution

    I see many enterprising souls have been creative in swapping main boards meant for a different model or power supplies or even panels.

    I have an older LG plasma for which replacement zsus boards are expensive even used for which the ipm's can fail at any time.

    So other than ribbon spacing, mounting hole issues and connector problems what "electrically" would be the pitfalls if any as long as the new zsus could be adjusted to match panel specifications ?

      Here is a concrete example. The first one is the one from my set, the second is from a 60" panel as well and Shopjimmy even says for the same model but I think that may be in error.

      Assuming one could bodge the connections what reason would make this attempt inadvisable ?

          Replaced Zsus beginning of year as most transistors were short stopping tv powering up.

          Now screen flashes on off continually and ZSUS ticks. Looking like replacement maybe faulty or could something else cause it to shut down.

          If I remove both tabs from ZSUS to screen but keep all other connectors to ZSUS on then TV boots properly but screen very dark without ZSUS output, no ticking from ZSUS. So it only shuts down when under load from screen.

          If it is ZSUS then how to fault find, I already looked for shorts. No transistors shorted or caps and its...

          All Voltages are OK except ZSUS 15v.
          YSUS board disconnected still 15v missing.
          ZSUS was replaced: 15v missing.
          Any help will be appreciated...

          Hi all,
          I am trying to fix my plasma TV which is not powering on due to damaged IGBTs. I have changed two igbts and 2 IC drivers on the zsus and also two igbts on the ysus.
          Now everytime I plugged the ZSUS and the YSUS boards to the power board, the two 30f124 IGBT on the ZSUS are damaged and the TV stays in standby mode. When I plug the ZSUS board alone the TV turns ON but I do not see pictures. When I plug the ZSUS board without the two 30f124 IGBTs and the YSUS board, the TV powers on with a picture.
          I am lost, should I change the YSUS board? Is the YSUS board damaging...

          Hello- This is my first real project, a Rickenbacker TR7 guitar amp, first generation, (tremolo, no distortion) not working, 100 watt dim-bulb tester stays glowing, though not brightly. The 2n5462 (JFET?) the screwdriver would be pointing to in 2 of the pics tests as a resistor between center leg and one end according to TC1 M-tester. Part seems to be unavailable unless I get 20 shipped in from unknown expensive source. The 4 caps test low esr, but amp is 45+ years old, so I imagine I should replace at least the 2200u35v, and the 470u,35v electrolytics, and it seems I might as well replace the...

          Hi all,
          Got this local made DC power supply (12/14V) given free as the transformer has melted. There is no marking or indication to identify what type or rating of transformer used.
          Fyi,. I had a busted autogate mainboard with transformer with marking 13-0-13 . Is this the 13v dc type transformer?
          My questions are
          1. How do i test to see if the transformer is in good working condition?
          2. Can this transformer (marking 13-0-13) be used to replace the melted transformer on the DC power supply?
