    Vizio E421VA PSU Fault

So I have 2 of these PSU's that have the same fault. Plug into bulb tester have 5v Stby present, no volts on PS-on pin in Stby.

When Ps-on is jumpered with resistor the bulb flashes 7 times in about 5 seconds and then goes dark. 4amp fuse does not blow. No 12 or 24 volts at all.

PFC circuit is still on at this point as it has 394 volts at input caps. All top and bottom diodes and resistors check OK.

So I removed Q903 the 2SK4101 N channel fet that drives the - side of transformer for 12 and 24 volts. Still flashes bulb.

Next I removed Q921 a STD1805a its a low voltage fast switching NPN power transistor. Bulb stops flashing but now no PFC. Caps at 164 volts. Transistor reads ok.

The emitter of Q921 is connected to Vcc of IC901 a Fan7529 a PFC controller. Which when on has fluctuating volt readings on VCC from 11.75 to 12.20 volts. The output fluctuates between .75 and 1.12 volts.

But it has to be ok since PFC is still active when Q921 is in circuit.

The PWM controller @ IC903 has 14v Vcc when PS-on is jumped, But it shows no output volts to Q903.

So I'm stumped from here, have been retesting all components just to make sure I did not miss something.

I cant get good pics of my own, it's raining here so I used one from SJ.

VIZIO (V555-H1) Television with odd cascading display fault
    by Garret Matt.
    Hello,

I'm working on a Vizio Model V555-H1 that displays a cascading series of horizontal lines when first powering on. These lines appear to be in the shape of the Vizio Logo and descend until reaching the logo before resetting to the top and continuing their descent. I have reseated my TCON board and dusted connections but still have this fault displaying. I'm familiar with vertical lines but this one is a new one for me. My research into this problem hasn't yielded results as keyword searches point back to vertical line problems.

    Anyone have any recommendations? I...

TOSHIBA DLP 52HM95 How to reset timer module on bulb
    by repair-it
I replaced the bulb only on my Toshiba DLP The bulb is a TB-25. This is the first time I've done a bulb only replacement. Supposedly there is a timer module that needs to be re-calibrated or reset. I don't know where the module is located. I see some vendors selling the bulb with the housing stating module included which leads me to think the module is located inside the enclosure the bulb mounts in, but I didn't see it. Maybe it's inside the plug attached to the bulb?

Anyway - I am seeking information on how to reset this so called module so that the lamp will operate. Apparently...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Assuming...

    Hi all,
this unit comes from a samsumg LCD TV LE32C530F1W which stopped working after making a strong noise like something was exploded inside of it.
I opened it and found that fuse FP801S was blown, capacitor CP814 was completely disintegrated and MOSFET QP801S was shorted.
I replaced all of them and instead of the fuse I connected a 100 Watt bulb. Then, without connecting it to other TV boards, I switched it on, but the bulb begun to blink.
I thought that maybe the bulb was somehow interfering with the normal operation of the power supply, so I replaced it with a fuse,...
