That depends on how much You want to get into finding shorted or open fets and diodes and maybe some resistors that changed value. Just hate to throw new parts at it and then have it blow up again. This jig should take care of that problem and no it isn't hard to make. The only trick is to wire the bulb in series, also the hot wire in and out of the bulb into a plug. The neutral isn't going through the bulb. That's it.
