Re: 50 inch samsung plasma
Measure the DC voltages on output of P.S. You must have a low voltage standby either 5 or 3.3vdc. This allows the remote to power up set. If it's ok the measure Vs there should be a label on screen listing the voltages. If Vs is low, try disconnecting the P.S output and measure the voltage. A shorted Y or Z board can load it down. The meter negative lead ties to Chassis gnd.Last edited by Ltank; 02-20-2015, 11:03 PM.Comment

by Super360Hi everyone I have this plasma here that has no standby light and is completely dead. I opened it up to see extremely dirty and dusty to which I cleaned but made no difference. So I checked all fuses good. I checked the standby voltage 5 volts good. Then I did that plasma control board test by shorting the pins(THANKS 2 TVTIMMY
) and the tv actually turned on and made a sound. Does this mean I need a new motherboard?...

Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power... -
by KYBOSHGot my hands on another non-working TV this weekend.
Person I got it from says he heard a load POP and the picture died.
Nothing to see when I opened up the back.
I found a single thread about this model on this forum and in it @dick_barton provided a very useful Fast Track Troubleshooting guide.
I followed the steps and found that my power supply was good (good Va & Vs) but only after unplugging the X & Y Boards.
I narrowed the problem to the Y-Sus board and found shorted IGBT (RJP30E3). There were also two other casualties... -

by ArMaaN376Hello,
I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.
How to confirm Y -Buffer board... - Loading...
