Re: Resistor value helpalues
Yes,i think that seeing as the other reads 47 ohms i will go for 68k ohm.
I think the worst that can happen is it just wont start up
Thanks

Re: Resistor value helpalues
Yes one has 4 example circuits but various values, in one its 100 ohms and another its 68k and 68 ohm
I attached another pic, 3rd band is clearly ORANGE so i am beginning to think it's 68k after all

Re: Resistor value helpalues
No, that would be too easyBUT there is another of a different value on the board.
I removed it and measured it and it says 47 ohms (see attached pic)
So maybe it is 68k although i have just traced it and it connects from the positive of the reservoir cap (quality CapXon construction) to the Drain of the TOP256 off line switching chip

Resistor value helpalues
Hi all, these carbon film resistors always confuse me for some reason, been reading resistor values over 50 years now but i seem to have a mental block when it comes to these.
This is used in a power supply alongside a TOP256EN chip which i suspect is dead. This resistor is open circuit , i think it is 0.68 ohms (source resistor ?) but of course BLUE/GREY/ORANGE would be 68k although the orange bar is spaced away from the BLUE
I don't want to put a 0.68 in if it is 6.8k
One of you will know i am sure.
Thanks in advance

Re: Help identifying this part by AMIS
Thanks for the link, i believe i have already tried it but i will check again. Difficult to work out exactly what it does to be honest.

Help identifying this part by AMIS
hi all, i am currently repairing a Body Control Module off a MAN truck which has had the battery connected in reverse. Lots of TVS protection diodes blown but i can at least now power it up on the bench. I have a component in need some data /pinout on but i can't find any anywhere, it was made by AMIS who are now ON Electronics. The markings on it are:
0609TDE IF ISO (this last part could also be 1F 150 as difficult to make out)
also
894 511 877 4
The truck it is from is a 2005 MAN TGL.
Also does anyone on h ere work on...

Yes, there's lots of Asian suppliers with links to datasheets which turn out to be not links to datasheets

Re: Anyone I.D this chip/have datasheet
The image i attached was from elektroda.pl as the image i took was out of focus. There's a user on there asking the same question, he calls it a microcontroller. I dont think its a custom number for BMW as the board is full of standard Philips and ST chips, Also on Aliexpress there another image of the chip with Chinese writing across the image but i dont want to buy one, just need the pinout/details of it

Re: Anyone I.D this chip/have datasheet
No, i don't believe it's an RF chip, there are other chips (TDA chips) on the board that i have identified as doing the decoding, this seems to be part of the voltage reg circuitry.

Anyone I.D this chip/have datasheet
Hi all, just wondered if anyone had any info/datasheet or knew what this chip does. It's made by NEC and has the number 12233766a (pic attached). I have done the usual googling but came up with nothing .
It is used in a diversity amplifier board from a BMW 3 Series car, the board picks up the RF signal from the remote keyfob and passes the signal to the security module to unlock the doors. I think it's some type of voltage reg or dc-dc chip
Thanks in advance

Honeywell Load/Newton Sensor
Just wondered if anyone had come across one of these devices before and had any idea to where i can find any data/specs on it. It is used in this case in a BMW X5 Electronic Parking Brake module and it measures the force being applied to the handbrake cable. It is made by Honewell (their name is on it) but i have been all over their site and can't find anything like it.
Any info appreciated :-)

Re: Surface Mount Capacitor Value
Many thanks for the response R_J, so my 22uf/50v Panasonc 105 Degree radial cap as installed will do the job perfectly.
Again many thanks

Surface Mount Capacitor Value
Hi all, just need some help in confirming the value of this surface mount cap. It is fitted on a control board for BMW X5 Brake actuator.
At the top of the picture next to the blue connector there is a surface mount cap just marked 22 VHD 9w6 i am taking it that it is a 22uf cap ? Can someone confirm ?
There were 2 caps with that marking on the board and 1 just fell off the board when the unit was opened, i have replaced it with a panasonic 22uf/50v cap which you can also see in the pic to the right of the surface mount one.
Thanks in advance

Name of the extra strong clear tape used on Laptop screens
Hi all, just replaced a laptop screen and it worked fine for a couple of days but now i am getting intermittent flashing lines/white screen. Although the new screen came with some clear plastic tape to secure the LVDS cable to the connector i notice it had pulled out the socket a little
& re-positioning the tape means it's now lost some of its adhesive. Dies anyone know the name of this very high grab tape which is used on these laptop screens to secure cables etc ?
Many thanks

Re: Compaq CQ58 LED Screen no backlighting
Tomorrow i will lift one end of L1001 & L1002 in turn to see if i can narrow this down to either the 3.3 or 5v line or to the U1001 chip itself

Re: Compaq CQ58 LED Screen no backlighting
Hi again
19volts going in but zero on V3.3 & V5.0 lines. Problem i have is finding where to split the circuit to try to isolate where the problem is occurring !
I can't find half the parts on the drawing, i think some are optional components, some are shown in green & blue . I'm used to reading circuit diagrams, i have over 45 years in electrionics but laptop motherboards are someting else !
Regards

Re: Compaq CQ58 LED Screen no backlighting
Polytek & Jarotech thank you for all your help. I discovered that there was damage to 2 wires at the panel end of the LVDS cable & i ordered a replacement off Ebay. Unfortunately almost as soon as i had ordered the cable the laptop which was running because i was testing for output on an external monitor went 'click' and shut down. Now i have no sign of life at all from the laptop, even with the DC lead in there's nothing (even the DC socket LED does not light) so it would seem i have a major problem which i don't think i will be...
