    Samsung UN46D6050TF Blurry Image

I'm new to the forum any help is appreciated.

My Samsung UN46D6050TF suddenly has a blurry image and horizontal lines (see attached). After educating myself as much as I could and taking a guess, can this be a problem with the t-con board? For $40 or so it seems worth a try replacing it than taking it to the TV shop.

    Thanks!

That's a bad panel. Seen it a bunch of times now. Sorry.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

I had one of these recently that looked very similar to your picture. The one I had come through, the whole image was affected. I've had many of these where a section of the screen is affected and that is 100% bad panel. Id risk a tcon purchase if the whole image is affected.

the dead giveaway is a two black marks at the top of the screen you can see that there's about a 1/8 inch of perfect picture and no overlap and then you can see the two black bars or darker areas then follow by the lighter areas with the black lines. This is usually a failed side tab driver at the top right hand side of the screen. You could try a t-con board but I doubt that it will fix the problem

I've done some crazy things saving those screens in the past like dremmeling the top area on the right hand side at the edge of the panel. I know this sounds weird but for me I repaired two of them that way I don't know if they're still working problem is that if you go too far you will crack the panel.

guess if you bought a t-con Board and tried it you could always do the Dremel method is a last resort if you're going to throw the TV out.

Thanks I appreciate all the advice. I don't know if this matters but I didn't mention that when the unit is cold and first powered on the picture is fine but then the problem shows up after 10 minutes or so.

Then I would try a tcon or at least try pressing on the tab bonds to see if the image changes

Update... I replaced the t-con board and it didn't make any difference (maybe a little worse). So I threw in the towel and took it to my local TV repair dude. He had it about a week, left it on overnight, and didn't see the problem - it was working fine. I picked it up and took it home and the problem still hasn't returned after a week or so. So... no clue what the issue was or what fixed it.

Being off or moved probably "fixed" it -- a problem that goes away on its own will come back on its own!

Sell it, until it still works.
D series, suffers with bad panels.

Yeah, make it someone else's problem. That'll show them! What a nice thing to do.
