    Toshiba 46xv645u 1-Blink 2-Blink 3-Blink Upon Power Up..

Toshiba 46xv645u.. Plug it in, the power LED blinks 3 times..

Let it run like that for a bit and then push the power button..

I get 1 blink.. Pause.. 2 Blinks... Pause. 3-Blinks, then it goes into the 3-Blink repetition..

When plugged in, Relay SR80 closes.. When unplugged, SR80 will open, then close, then open...

    Relay SR81 does nothing...

This thread had some insight but I checked the fuses and resistor/fuses and everything is good...

    Going to check voltages next...

Looks like it's a blown cap on the Inverter board..

Oh gods, please let this be an easy fix!!

Nope.. This is just not my lucky day...

Replaced the blown cap.. Still have the 3-blinks...

Ask yourself what caused the cap to blow? Is the fuse on that board OK?

I figured a power surge of some sort..

I found two fuses and they check out..

I know it's a crappy solder job, but the replacement cap is solid..

Nah, that's just flux... the joint itself is ok... those are always tricky to do, as surface mounting a radial electrolytic is not optimal.

Do you have 24V at the fuses, at both ends?

Yikes, I don't recall ever seeing a bad cap on one of these samsung inverters. My first guess with the power related issue would be the q880 on the power supply. Just like the older toshiba power supplies where 3 ic are replaced on the power supply for the 3 blink code. There are also 2 47ohm resistors on the power supply that run hot and usually discolor the board. I have not seen one open but I'm sure it's possible with how hot they run. Can't remember the exact location but they are on the right near 2 mosfets( I think in my thread about the board I had the location).

Had to go get the grandkids from the bus stop.. I'll be back at the house in a few and will check what's been mentioned.

                Thanx for the replies

Not sure what you mean by "both ends"...

If I have one probe on one end and the other probe on the other, I get 0v

If I have POS probe on either end and NEG probe to chassis GND, I also get 0v

This is with the unit plugged in...

Definitely some discoloration here, so this is where I assume you mean ...

Yep those 2 resistors should be 47ohm when you test them.

plugged in and the TV turned on? That's not good then.

As "turned on" as this unit will allow itself to be..

I have noticed that the sequence of blinks does NOT appear to be related to the pushing of the power button...

It appears that the sequence is thus...

                            8 3-Blinks, 1 1-Blink, 1 2-blinks, rinse and repeat...

Ok, post a picture of the connector going between the main board and power board - include the legend next to it, indicating which pin is 5V, etc.
