Gentlemen, I have a Panasonic plasma with an original 4 blink sos. I downloaded the correct manual for my set and followed the detailed flow chart, and discovered a shorted v-sus line. Continued to follow the chart and discovered bad Sc board. It took a while to learn how to disconnect everything necessary, as I have never worked on anything but LG and Samsung Plasma's. All other boards check ok. I would like to confirm my buffer boards are ok I do not quit understand how to do this part of the chart. Can I remove the SC board completely and then check for resistance on the points listed in the manual, or should I put SC back in? Thanks for all the Help in advance, George.

this will save the hassle of getting the panel ribbons back in stright which can be fiddly.
you'll need a meter to measures about 6Mohms however if you have one that goes to 2meg, and it goes OL then that should be good enough.
usually Vfo will go short and the others can also go short or have a resistance substantially lower
Generally speaking the buffers survive, however, I have had one i did not check where both sd/su where shorted on the vfo and the 5v_f lines were substantially out. Result of that mistake was blowing up a brand new SC board
Moduslink have a good price for the 54" board $68 for repair return. Taking labour and parts prices into account I would not bother attempting a self repair with a kit unless you've done one before.

If you're doing a resistance check as per the G20/G25 troubleshooting guide then you should be able to it insitu with the boards in, SC out. Disconnect the interconnecting ribbon between the sd/su. measure and record results, reconnect that ribbon when done.

Gentlemen, I have some results, I would like to share, for my buffer boards. Starting with the SU upper board. TPSU15 =5.91m ohms VFO TPSU16 =219.1K ohms VSCN-F (TPSC1) TPSU17 =9.48m ohms 5V_F On to the SD board. TPSD29 =6.23m ohms VFO TPSD28 =219.8k ohms VSCN-F (TPSC1) and finally TPSD26 =35.51m ohms 5V_F All tests were done according to the manual slide 43. If anything looks out of place please let me know, thanks for all your help.Comment

by clooI recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.
So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...01-06-2025, 06:02 AM -
by VebririonHi everyone,
I'm new here and trying to repair my Panasonic TX-P50V10E plasma TV, which is currently showing the 6 red blink error code.
Just for context: I'm used to building PCs and installing modchips in old consoles, but this is my first time trying to fix a TV. I'm French, and while my English is okay, I'm using ChatGPT to help translate and clarify my messages as much as possible — so please forgive any odd phrasing.
I'm also not very experienced with using a multimeter, but I'm very motivated and ready to follow instructions carefully and report... -
by JacksoftHi all,
I have here a Plasma TV TX-P46G10E that before had a problem where it had issues with 11 blinks (FAN SOS) BEFORE starting normally. After that it works for all day long.
It had some bad cold solder and I remade them all. After I replaced a fan that was half-dead (no RMP signal from the respective pin, but ok with 9V).
Now the TV power up instantly and works perfect... only without the backplate!
If the backplate is placed on the TV shutsdown after about 10min and start blinking with the 11 blinks. If I shutdown and re-powerup it starts blinking after a bunch of...1 Photo -
by mostachioHi Badcaps,
I've had a friend discard a TH-65DX700Z Pansonic Viera Television and I've decided to have a go at repairing it. If possible could I please get some advice in terms of diagnosing the problem so I can purchase the appropriate parts for repair whether it be components, a repair kit or a replacement board. I am happy to post pictures if required.
TV Details:
Model # - TH-65DX700Z
Symptoms:
The television turns on and displays a picture then makes a clicking sound and turns off.
I haven't opened it up yet but... -
by nervxYears ago my tv gave a 7 blink code which turned into 8 during diagnosis. I had ordered a replacement ss board but somehow the tv started working again and i never used the board. Now a week ago my tv flickered and shut off at random and gave the 8 blink error code. The same issue it had all those years ago. The only difference this time is that over the last few months there has been some purple and green tinge that comes and goes in more solid colors such as white.
Anyway i checked all the screws and replaced the ss board with a known good one and still got 8 blinks. I saw a... - Loading...
