    Panasonic TC-P50U50 Screen Flash Then Blanks Out 7-8 Flashes Power LED

    Just got in a Panasonic.. Nice condition cosmetically speaking..

    I power it up, see a quick flash of the input (HDMI-1) and then the screen goes blank and the power LED blinks 7-8 times..

    The boards look good, no blown caps or burn marks...

    It's something I going to jump on around 0200-0300 EST tomorrow, but just wanted to get an idea of where to start...

      You'll need to get the exact code - 7 and 8 are different errors. 8 is a very common fault on this model and is very easy to fix...

          If I recall correctly, after it blanks out, it gives a 7 blink code and then subsequent sets are 8 blinks..

          I'll confirm more in the morning....

              tech tip. watch for loose screws or better still replace them

                  I have confirmed that it is 8-blinks on the power LED..

                  Cleaned the mounts on the chassis and going to order the repair kit..

                                          Replacement parts fixed the problem. Didn't want to mess with buying the wrong part so I just got the repair kit from ShopJimmy...

                                          Unit is up and running. Thanx to all..

                                              pretty easy job by the sounds of it. I thought the price of that kit was ok given it had everything + the screws.

                                                          Hello, I'm stuck in troubleshooting…
                                                          The flash system works like that : when the (mechanic) flash button is pressed, the flash mecanically pop up, and a circuit buck boost elevate 7v (batt) to 200-300v (?) for charging the big capacitor. And when the photo shoot button is pressed, the capacitor is discharged in the xeon light.

                                                          In the D800, there is a first « power board » close to the battery. 2 wires (batt 7v) goes to another little « flash board ». I measured 7v, so ok.
                                                          When I press the flash button, it's detected by the system, flash icon appear on LDC display....

                                                          I usually try to figure these things out on my own but am asking for help now as I have been beating my head against a wall.

                                                          Backstory, I initially ended up with a CF20 Mk2 with a locked BIOS. I used aptio to read the BIOS and made the adjustments to the .rom file and attempted to write it back with aptio before reading other users problems with that setup.                                                           Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?

                                                          Hello I've had somebody bring in one of these charming little cameras to attempt retrieving data from the internal 32GB flash.
                                                          Something is damaged inside the cameras lens assembly I can hear it clunking around and it has probably dislodged the sensor, powering up the camera gives a blank screen and the focus motor sounds like it's having a fit.
                                                          The camera will not connect to a computer via USB in this state, I have no options no navigation, just power up and focus/zoom motor noises.

                                                          I think my best shot is to figure out a way to read the internal flash memory outside...
