Panasonic TC-P50U50 Screen Flash Then Blanks Out 7-8 Flashes Power LED

Just got in a Panasonic.. Nice condition cosmetically speaking..

I power it up, see a quick flash of the input (HDMI-1) and then the screen goes blank and the power LED blinks 7-8 times..

The boards look good, no blown caps or burn marks...

It's something I going to jump on around 0200-0300 EST tomorrow, but just wanted to get an idea of where to start...

You'll need to get the exact code - 7 and 8 are different errors. 8 is a very common fault on this model and is very easy to fix...

If I recall correctly, after it blanks out, it gives a 7 blink code and then subsequent sets are 8 blinks..

I'll confirm more in the morning....

tech tip. watch for loose screws or better still replace them

I have confirmed that it is 8-blinks on the power LED..

Cleaned the mounts on the chassis and going to order the repair kit..

Replacement parts fixed the problem. Didn't want to mess with buying the wrong part so I just got the repair kit from ShopJimmy...

Unit is up and running. Thanx to all..

pretty easy job by the sounds of it. I thought the price of that kit was ok given it had everything + the screws.

I don't think digikey would have had all those parts especially the transistor and the driver IC
