I replaced U101, still no standby power. Any other ideas on what to check next?Comment

Re: HELP replacement or equivalent of this diode T2D 83
Can someone help me with this one? Still no standby power after replacing U101 and all the main transistors. Can't find anything else obviously wrong, have the voltages shown above but no power on the cold side of the board.Comment

Re: HELP replacement or equivalent of this diode T2D 83
I replaced C104 but no difference. On U101, pin 8 has 20V. Pin 5 has 3.3V. D107 not shorted.
Tried replacing U101 again, no change.
BTW C104 in that schematic shows a 47 uF cap where it was 4.7 uF in the board. The schematic may not be exact for this model but should close.Last edited by kevinm34232; 12-22-2019, 05:18 PM.Comment

Re: HELP replacement or equivalent of this diode T2D 83
If the schematic is not correct, what is the U1 part number? is it a FSQ510? If you look at the datasheet for the ic you will see that the ic charges C104, Once the ic fires the internal fet, there is a voltage generated in the transformer scondary and the voltage coming from pin2 of the transformer gets rectified by D107, and THIS voltage will be around 20v to sustain the ic.
I would check pin 3 to ground to make sure that c105,D107 and the optocoupler are not shortedLast edited by R_J; 12-22-2019, 05:59 PM.Comment

Yes it's the same. Pin 7 leg was burned up when I got it.Last edited by kevinm34232; 12-22-2019, 05:57 PM.Comment

Re: HELP replacement or equivalent of this diode T2D 83
Is it possible some small unidentifiable U or Q SMD transistor is bad on the bottom of the board and I should just give up on it? I hate to but can't find anything and don't know enough to trace the whole circuit.Comment

Re: HELP replacement or equivalent of this diode T2D 83
There are NO transistors or other ic's for the standby circuit. for example, Q101 is only need to provide VCC for other parts of the circuit AFTER the power supply is turned on, but is not required for standby.
The standby circuit is very simple.
Where did you get the FSQ510? they could be bad fakes.Last edited by R_J; 12-23-2019, 09:45 PM.Comment

Re: HELP replacement or equivalent of this diode T2D 83
One was Digikey, one came in the Shopjimmy repair kit.
Is there a way for me to troubleshoot upstream or downstream of this area to see where the problem may be?Last edited by kevinm34232; 12-23-2019, 09:48 PM.Comment

Re: HELP replacement or equivalent of this diode T2D 83
Update: ZD103 was bad in addition to U101 loading down VCC line. Thanks R_J for the help!Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by r2digitalI have a klipsch kda-500 that would turn on and allow me to get into the web management but it was picking up a lot of noise from audio sources so i decided to replace the smd caps on the power supply along with radial one. Some one was in here before me and they basically burned the bottom side of the traces off for the radial cap but i was able to repair it without any real problem. I thought i did a good job sourcing out replacement caps but apparently not and now i can't get the power supply to turn on it just constantly try's to keep turning on. Attached is a picture of the power supply before...2 Photos

by the_remHello guys,
I would like a quite old but still good 800 W ATX PSU to be repaired. The problem was an extremely heavy coil whine coming from the small secondary transfomer on the PCB.
I desoldered it hoping the references on the upper side would allow me to find a adequate replacement part. Sadly the written references drove me nowhere but to the manufacturer (I-MAG). I sent them a message like a bottle in the see asking them to send me a datasheet of the transformer. And... They responded ! I received a kind of datasheet (see attachment) but my competencies do not allow... -
by TnmgI have a Sony XBR-65X850E that when plugged in buzzes for a few seconds about 5-7 times but the screen never comes on. It looks like one of the four diodes on the main power supply board are bad. I'd like to replace all four at the same time. The diodes that are bad are the D750, D751, D752 and D753. The S750 looks discolored and fails the diode test on the board. It hasn't been removed from the board yet for testing.
Are all four of these the same diode? I saw a video that called the discolored one a Schottky 5150 diode. How can I make sure to get the right diodes for these?... - Loading...
