        So you actually need a different type of tape for the flex to glass and the flex to board connections.

          It does look that way. There is this video of someone using 9703 to repair an ipod touch, but there is no afterwards video so there is no way of knowing if it worked.

            It probably works, but may not last as long as using the correct type.

                  Ipod touch repair does work
                  But bear in mind it is slightly different in that there is no heat involved.
                  it doesn't get hot

                  where as in the panels quite abit of heat is generated so its a different scenario ?
