Hey all!
I've been searching around for a while and can't seem to find a thread anywhere which addresses this issue specifically.
SYMPTOM:
Basically, the Emerson LC320EM82 that I have flashes the green indicator light for about 5 seconds after the power button is pressed and then turns to solid red. During this time, the backlight never turns on or flashes at all.
SOLUTION ATTEMPTS:
I have checked the resistance of the transformers but everything looks okay-ish. All read between 0.395 to 0.403 kOhm and one reads 0.384 kOhm. I have read I should be getting 4 MOhm so I'm just assuming that the meter's units are off or I am reading it wrong.
I pulled everything apart and looked at the CCFLs. I've seen bad ones before and all of these look good at a glance. I have verified with the LCD panel removed that none of them turn on when the power button is pressed. I'm assuming that having all of them go bad simultaneously is unlikely and am guessing the problem is somewhere else.
I have also looked over all of the capacitors and do not see anything that looks bulged.
At this point, I'm not really sure where to go or what else to check as most people start with the problem of the backlight flashing on then off. I will provide any pictures requested as well as any measurements as soon as I can.
Thanks very much for your help!
