Hey all!
I've been searching around for a while and can't seem to find a thread anywhere which addresses this issue specifically.
SYMPTOM:
Basically, the Emerson LC320EM82 that I have flashes the green indicator light for about 5 seconds after the power button is pressed and then turns to solid red. During this time, the backlight never turns on or flashes at all.
SOLUTION ATTEMPTS:
I have checked the resistance of the transformers but everything looks okay-ish. All read between 0.395 to 0.403 kOhm and one reads 0.384...

Thanks for getting back to me. I have a digital multimeter so how would I go about testing to confirm?...

Samsung LN32A330: Possible Bad T-CON
I recently picked up a Samsung LN32A330, specifically LN32A330J1D, that was having issues with displaying the correct colors. At first it looked like everything had a red tint but I realized that all of the colors just look terrible in general.
On the software side, I have:
-Seen that all inputs are affected
-Tried messing around with the color settings through the menu
-Done a factory reset
On the hardware side, I have:
-Re-seated the LVDS cable on both the main board side and the T-CON
I am thinking at this point that the...

LG 55LS4500 - T-Con or Panel?
I have an LG 55LS4500 which I picked up for cheap because all it displayed was a black screen. The sound worked when hooked up to a source. In the lower left corner, there is a lighter patch which can be seen here:
I pulled it all apart and managed to get some images to display by reseating the ribbon cables onto the T-Con board. When both the left and right ribbon cables are hooked up, I generally get a mess of lines which is shown here though sometimes I get the source image, albeit in negative colors.
When I disconnect...

Re: PN42A400C2D: Turns on but no picture
I checked the panel very carefully with a flashlight and do not see any cracks anywhere so I believe the panel is alright.
Replacing the ICs is probably far more involved than I am comfortable with. I think I'll try out shopjimmy and hopefully get a working buffer.
Because the Y Sustain has been hooked up to a damaged buffer, do you think it's damaged as well or should I be safe just replacing the buffer board?

Re: PN42A400C2D: Turns on but no picture
Okay so I did exactly what the video showed and it appears the Y Buffer is toast. I get continuity beeps in a few places on the connectors. I also tested the old Y Buffer and found the same thing though the shorts were located in different places.
From here, do you think I should replace just the Y Buffer or the Y Main as well? Is there a way to test the Y Main or do the tests done so far say anything about its condition? I originally purchased them as a combo from eBay but as the Y Buffer is defective, I will...

Re: PN42A400C2D: Turns on but no picture
Repeating the test with the Y buffer removed, the VSCAN voltage now sits at a very steady -201V. Also, the humming sound coming from the Y Main is gone....

Re: PN42A400C2D: Turns on but no picture
I'm getting a fair amount of fluctuation (though this may be the result of using a really cheap multimeter). At first touch, I get a reading of -180V which drops down and then bounces around somewhere near -165V to -170V. It is rather tough to tell exactly where though because sometimes it looks like it drops to 150V very briefly.
This was done leaving everything exactly as was with the jumper on and LVDS off.

Re: PN42A400C2D: Turns on but no picture
Okay so I jumped pins 3 and 4 and unplugged the LVDS cable, all as shown in the attached diagram (just to make sure I did that right).
There was no difference. No image appeared on the screen, I still got the boot up sound, and the Y Main board still made the same humming sound every 3/4 seconds....

PN42A400C2D: Turns on but no picture
After lurking these forum for a few days and not being able to find a solution to my issue, I am starting a thread and including as much information as possible.
My Samsung PN42A400c2d does not display an image. When the power button is pressed, I here a relay click once and then power light begins to blink for a few seconds before becoming solid. During this time, the start up noise is heard but no image appears on the screen nor does the backlight power on.
On the inside, LED 1 briefly turns on before going out while LED 2 blinks until the the unit is powered off....

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi everyone! My name is Alex and I've come here in search of help in fixing a PN42A400C2D which shows no picture. I initially registered to see the attachments but am posting here so I might be able to start my own thread after not being able to fix my set with existing threads.
