    LN-T4061F Blue Tint, horizontal lines

Made a nice score on this thing today, mint condition and ended up just being a software issue. If you run into any of these LN-T4x6x series TV's and you are seeing any of the following issues: Blue (or other color) tint, psychedelic colors, negative colors, 2-3 horizontal lines, it is probably a simple fix. I can see it easily being mistaken as a hardware issue, and funny enough a new motherboard would probably fix it. I don't want you guys to go wasting your money for such an easy fix.

Samsung released a firmware update that set values incorrectly in the service menu and when customers call them about it, Samsung tells the customer they shouldnt have installed the firmware and their TV is broken. (reported by multiple people online and the gent I picked this up from.)

    Here is the fix:

    1. Make sure the TV is off. Then on the remote, slowly press MUTE, 1, 8, 2, POWER. Wait for the TV to come on and the service menu should come up.

For psychedlic/negative colors: Goto "Option Byte" then "Lvds Tx Fmt".. Change from JEIDA to VESA. That should fix the issue.

For blue (or any other color tint): This one is more involved. Probably easiest to do with a PC that has VGA and HDMI connections. You need to find an 8x8 checkerboard image, or use the one I've attached. With the PC displaying on the TV and the checkerboard JPG full screen, bring up the service menu and go into Calibration. Run the calibration on both HDMI and VGA, once for each or until it reports "success".. I had to try a few different times for some reason and finally got it by using the checkerboard for my windows background and hiding the taskbar/destktop icons.

Also: Make sure the SCREEN SIZE is correct:
    Panel Option = 46AMW for LN-T4665 displays, and 46AM for LN-T4661 displays.
Make sure that if you own an LN-T4x65 that your Lvds Tx Bit = 10bit.
Make sure if you own an LN-T4x61 that your Lvds Tx Bit = 8bit.
If you own an LN-T4x65, your should change your model so it says "Tulip Side."
If you own an LN-T4x61, you should change the model so it says "Tulip."

I scored this TV for 60 bucks and fixed it in 20 minutes.

Well, scratch the horizontal lines part. They are intermittent and have returned. Also seeing a blue vertical line on the left side of the screen. They seem to go away when I flex the TV. It's looking like the previous owner was probably trying to fix a hardware issue by updating the firmware and messing around in the service menu and screwed up the calibration.

I wasn't able to recreate the horizontal lines to take a picture, but they are 3 horizontal lines evenly spaced out and also artifacting occuring in between the lines. I got a picture of the blue vertical line. This also goes away if I flex the TV a certain way, but they aren't mutually exclusive.

Starting to look like a tab bonding issue to me, any other suggestions? I'll probably tear it down tonight and look at the components, maybe even poke at the tabs. You guys want to group buy a tab bonding machine? We can keep it at my house.

I may have been wrong about the lines going away when I flexed the TV. I did a reset through the service menu and the lines immediately disappeared and haven't been back since. Is it possible this was a software issue? I'll keep playing with it to make sure they dont come back.

Lines are back. Seems to happen when the unit is cold and they disappear after a bit. I was able to make go away quick with a hair dryer. I think it may be the capacitors near the mainboard header on the PSU. I'm gonna try a few more times today and report back.

Putting this one on the back burner for a while and using it in my office. Until I get some of the non functional tv's up and running.

Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.

              by Ihandyrepair
              Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

Sony XBR-65X750D Horizontal lines bottom of screen
              by ggil44
Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
              by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

              Samsung UN46C8000XFXZA Horizontal lines
              by x_orange90_x
I just acquired this 3D LED yesterday and it has horizontal lines on a little more than half of the screen. When I first turn it on it has thin black lines going across that makes the image look serrated, and then shortly after patterns of thicker red lines fade in. If I turn it off and right back on it will reset to just the black lines and the red will again fade onto the screen.

I initially thought tab bonds, but flexing the bezel makes no difference, and the fact the image sort of resets after cycling power is different. I haven't opened it up yet to actually test applying...
