Panasonic TX-P42G20 Dead, with 10 blink....

At last--something that's fairly recent and made just before Panasonic decided to screw up their Plasma Production and reputation by cheapening everything to the point of destruction, has come my way.

This 2010 set was dead with 10 blink. A few quick checks showed no shorts of SS or SD boards, and I turned my attention to the PSU.
Checks of the board fuses showed the 5A supplying the Vsus regulator stages was blown.
A few more checks showed that the two 12N50 MOSFETS were short-circuit and further checks of the driver stages showed no other issues.

I had a couple of 13N50 MOSFETS, I had ordered--for summit--that hadn't been used, so fitted those with a new 5A QB fuse.....

The set fired up and worked as normal, and time-of-use indicates only 4,000 hours.--Which was nice after the run of bad COF chips, bad panels and other horrors Ive had lately.

Not long ago, I had repaired a 2011 Panasonic plasma a TX-P42U30, and was not impressed by its build-quality or its picture--TBH, I thought the picture was crap, so didn't hold much hope for this year earlier one!

The difference of picture quality of this 'G20' set is Quite Different! I was impressed by its picture quality, the lack of motion blurring or frame-flicker and the black-level. It doesn't seem to have that annoying floating-black level the later set has. Running blu-ray through it is brilliant while the HD freeview is pretty impressive too.
It has (for a Plasma) a pretty bright image too.

    --This one's a keeper--Finally get to retire my 42PZ70!

Only thing that's irritating about this set--While picture is outstanding--The Sound from its internal speakers is Terrible, no matter what you do with the settings, its hollow and top heavy!

The set consumes 200W less power than the old PZ70 but still gets Bloody Hot! --Some extra cooling may be added.....

Interesting, probably the first one I've read with an actual PSU fault for 10 blink and not the classic blown SC board. I just did a 50U30 too. Thought the picture was ok certainly clearer at close range but did notice that blurring watching the Cricket. Weird, reminds me of watching LCD.

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
      by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

panasonic TX-P50V10E 6 blink led problem
      by Vebririon
      Hi everyone,

I'm new here and trying to repair my Panasonic TX-P50V10E plasma TV, which is currently showing the 6 red blink error code.

Just for context: I'm used to building PCs and installing modchips in old consoles, but this is my first time trying to fix a TV. I'm French, and while my English is okay, I'm using ChatGPT to help translate and clarify my messages as much as possible — so please forgive any odd phrasing.

I'm also not very experienced with using a multimeter, but I'm very motivated and ready to follow instructions carefully and report...

Panasonic Plasma repair - TH-P60GT50 - Dead, 3 blink code
      by rmacintosh
I aquired this Panasonic 60" plasma around the time my first child was born. It was meant to be a project tv, hoping to fix it chipping away at the repair in my free time. Well that was 2 years ago and i'm really just getting around to making a sincere effort to see if I can ressurect this beast.

The symptoms of the tv ar as follows:
      • Plug AC in to back of TV
      • After about 2 seconds the relay on the P-sub board will click on and then a fraction of a second later it clicks back off
      • The 3 blink code is given by the power LED
      • If the TV is unplugged and then

      Panasonic TH-42PZ800 8-blink error mystery
      by nervx
Years ago my tv gave a 7 blink code which turned into 8 during diagnosis. I had ordered a replacement ss board but somehow the tv started working again and i never used the board. Now a week ago my tv flickered and shut off at random and gave the 8 blink error code. The same issue it had all those years ago. The only difference this time is that over the last few months there has been some purple and green tinge that comes and goes in more solid colors such as white.

Anyway i checked all the screws and replaced the ss board with a known good one and still got 8 blinks. I saw a...
