    42LG3000 Screen Fault

So while I'm waiting on my Panasonic caps to arrive I decided to start my other project a Sanyo, which was nice and easy and is working! yay so I move on to this and here I am again.

I can't really explain this fault but I do have pictures to follow, when I first got it, the back light came on and instantly dimmed, like it was power saving it seems to be a built in feature for when it's idle but after a short while of leaving it blank, white started filling the screen from around the sides and top and bottom. This is one of 3 things it seems to do, if it's not this then the screen does come on, but the image is like scrolling in-between horizontal lines (the picture will clear this up) the third thing it will do if it's none of the above is, it will work perfectly fine and run for hours with no issue, can turn it on and off and it will come straight on, cold starts, no problem so I can't find the trigger either.

I read elsewhere that the T-con board is the fault?

    Thanks.

      Could be loose LVDS.

Panel is a distinct possibility (LCD itself) - known issue with these models is a tab bonding failure.

I guess if it's the panel it's not repairable? I know replacing it isn't an option.

If it is the panel, it would be impossible to repair (aside from screen replacement, not worth it.)

I'd try a tcon, if you get a good 1 and it does the exact same thing, at least you ruled the tcon out, and they're not too expensive.

I was toying with the idea of a t-con replacement just to see. I'll price one up and see if it's not too bad I may try it.

I decided to just use it as it is, I worked out that if I just give it a bang at the back when the screen goes, it comes back on. Bigger than my current TV and I can live with giving it a tap every now and again!

Sounds like a tab bond fault. It may be fixable. Eventually tapping will stop working though, so I wouldn't just get rid of your old TV just yet...

I'm all for it being fixable, so far it's not done it since but I'm sure it'll come back. What is it that needs repairing?

Since posting that about 10 minutes ago, it did it again but it seemed that it turned itself on too, is that common with the same fault?

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                          by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Macbook Air M2 A2681 Kernel panics after screen replacement
                          by reformatt
Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
                          by smic717394
                          Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

                          by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

Red patches on screen. Driver fault???
                          by MarkC1970
I have a strange fault that I need help understanding. The TV is run with a PCB labelled TP.MS6486.PB711.

As you will see in the pictures there is a red patch over the right hand side of the screen that is far more visible on a black background but never goes away. It appears like it is some sort of driver fault but I don't know enough about how these panels are driven to even guess where to start looking. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
