Panasonic TH-42PZ80U 10 Blink When Warm

It works fine if you let it sit and cool down. Watch it for a while, turn it off and back on, and you get ten blinks. When the set works, there are two clicks from the PSU. When it's working and you shut it off before it's had a chance to warm up, there is one relay click. Once it warms up, when you shut it off, there are two relay clicks and then when you try to power it back on, there are two relay clicks and then there is a third click immediately after the second and you get ten blinks.

I'm going to change the 1uf SMD caps on CM201 and CM301 and report back. I'll look for cracked solder joints while I'm in there.

I've had exactly this symptom with a PZ80 before.
Never cut out while running - just wouldn't turn on unless it had been turned off for some time before.
    Was the MC-module ceramic caps...

Its most likely the mc module on the power supply. Faulty capacitor. Repaired quite a few and had one do that befor and thought it was odd but turned out that it was the problem. that one was probably just on the threshold of failure like the others fail all the way

Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Awesome. I've got the PSU out. I saw NorCal's YouTube video. He replaced the ICs on both sub boards as well. I've done the caps once already on a 46PZ80U. It didn't work at all before I fixed it. That's what threw me off. I've got a handful of little ceramic caps in my drawer. I'll swap them in and see if it fixes it.

Seems like it was just the caps.

Use a little glue to hold those caps down, as they could break off if the TV is transported.

Instead of gluing them on, would it be better to trim them shorter and solder directly to the top left pin of the IC and the one two pins below that?

I glue mine to the IC with short legs on the capacitor. Takes some practice but works well.

This looks a lot more stable. Thanks for the tip Tom. It was actually considerably easier to do it this way.

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
                        by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

                        by Vebririon
                        Hi everyone,

I'm new here and trying to repair my Panasonic TX-P50V10E plasma TV, which is currently showing the 6 red blink error code.

Just for context: I'm used to building PCs and installing modchips in old consoles, but this is my first time trying to fix a TV. I'm French, and while my English is okay, I'm using ChatGPT to help translate and clarify my messages as much as possible — so please forgive any odd phrasing.

I'm also not very experienced with using a multimeter, but I'm very motivated and ready to follow instructions carefully and report...

                        Panasonic TH-42PZ800 8-blink error mystery
                        by nervx
Years ago my tv gave a 7 blink code which turned into 8 during diagnosis. I had ordered a replacement ss board but somehow the tv started working again and i never used the board. Now a week ago my tv flickered and shut off at random and gave the 8 blink error code. The same issue it had all those years ago. The only difference this time is that over the last few months there has been some purple and green tinge that comes and goes in more solid colors such as white.

Anyway i checked all the screws and replaced the ss board with a known good one and still got 8 blinks. I saw a...

                        (Another) 7 BLINK TC-P60VT60 Panasonic - NEWBIE
                        by SentraDude
Greetings from SoCal I am new to this forum but not new to forum world. I come from Automotive end of side which is my main passion in life. Give the automotive nature, I love fixing and restoring things and I have in the past fixed many simple electronics, soldering, etc.. but this is a bit more involved so I found this forum, and I am very glad I did.

I picked up a Panasonic TC-P60VT60 with the 7 BLINK error.
Upon removing the back plate I found spider webs, dead spiders, and an amazing amount of dust. I did my best to clean the surface of the boards with a portable vacuum...

Panasonic Plasma repair - TH-P60GT50 - Dead, 3 blink code
                        by rmacintosh
I aquired this Panasonic 60" plasma around the time my first child was born. It was meant to be a project tv, hoping to fix it chipping away at the repair in my free time. Well that was 2 years ago and i'm really just getting around to making a sincere effort to see if I can ressurect this beast.

The symptoms of the tv ar as follows:
                        • Plug AC in to back of TV
                        • After about 2 seconds the relay on the P-sub board will click on and then a fraction of a second later it clicks back off
                        • The 3 blink code is given by the power LED
                        • If the TV is unplugged and then
                        ...
