    Samsung LE40C530F1W broken screen

    Hello!

I've got this LCD with broken screen, and I would like to scrap it and sell the boards etc.

I think I've read somewhere in this forum someone saying that when a TV with broken screen is turned on , one of the boards becomes bad.
I dont remember exactly wich one was, maybe the T-con?

Does anyone knows something about this?

The set turns on well, havent opened it yet, but I've take a couple of photos.

I think main is OK, power board is OK, inverter is OK, buttons, speakers OK.

    Thanks

In rare cases the T-con can go bad, but to me it looks like you have a partial picture so you should be ok. Worth checking all HDMI ports on the main board and the freeview tuner... other than that it should all be good.

      Thanks Tom.
Gonna connect some inputs in HDMI and check them, and also the tuner.

What do you do to a broken panel? Is it possible to route it to recycling?
What do you guys normally do?

I take the useful stuff out and leave the screen and the casing plastic at the local dump... The dump near me is max 10 electronic item visits per year... I have done two this whole year.
