Re: this is bad panel right?
this could be a bad panel it could also be a bad ribbon connection from the t-con to the panel or it could be a bad soldering connection on one of the SMD components on the top FRP board that's attached to the panel inside the metal frame on that side I have seen all three beforeDid I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: this is bad panel right?
Indeed eletrolysis has happened due to some water based product coming in to contact with those electrical contacts, could be over exuberance of some cleaning product, if it is, a word of warning: always spray on the clothe first, never the screen, this will obviously stop any running and dripping down behind the screen thus eliminating any chance of this happening, we hope.

Re: this is bad panel right?
You may always get lucky and press on that connector to see if picture comes back then use some sort of wedge to hold it in place if it does. But probably not long termDid I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: this is bad panel right?
You should inspect everything in detail there.
I had a nice 55" Sony 3D TV, with the same issue(Windex victim) and one of the tabs, got punctured through from a short. PCB trace, it was completely gone under the puncture.Comment

by mecha1166Some new tvs have an LCD screen attached to the outside of the frame with foam tape. These are "edge to edge" as they are called. I am trying to figure out how to reattach an LCD panel back up to the frame. The manufacturer used 3/16 inch foam tape along the top and rh/lh edges. I used a razor blade to separate the panel from the metal frame. The metal frame that the panel is taped to is 1/4 inch wide along the 2 sides and top. I completely removed the residue from the metal frame. There is some residue on the panel itself along the 3 edges, I removed almost all of it using alcohol and...

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

by Demetrio87Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me solve my problem, I have the case of a legion t5 where I have installed an asus tuf gamig a520m-plus motherboard, the audio connection cable on the case is an F_audio connector with 14 PIN , on my new motherboard the connector is a 10-pin AAFP, I saw that there are adapters on sale but at the moment I have no way of having them available in a short time, I made several attempts and managed to listen from the front headphones, only that there are some problems, the headphones are only detected if the microphone is connected, I definitely got confused with...6 Photos

by triplefourTV flashes backlight then reboots over and over. no image. Client said it used to have image for a bit before rebooting. Got worse over time.
tcon is built into mainboard.
Only one cable goes to panel boards.
there is a cable from one panel board to the other that links them.
cost cutting measure that results in us having harder time to diagnose.
removing the link to the second panel board allows TV to stay on with stable backlight but no image.
used cut off tape method to mask 1 maybe 2 pins on the side of the cable that goes to that second panel board.... -
I had a the above tv qn55q60r that had a bad panel but everything else good. I had another panel here from un55nu6900 with bad leds and melted diffusers.
I put the nu6900 panel in and powered it up and it does work but there are lines vertical lines.
I was trying to change the panel type in the service menu but don’t see my exact panel. Anyway to fix this or someone have similar experience.
the clear picture is the panel type from the service menus on the nu6900. The other 1 is the panel type that was set for the q60r with the bad panel....01-13-2024, 01:57 PM - Loading...
