Vizio VP50HDTV10A; replaced caps and still intermittently shut off and cycles on/off

    Hello forum!

I've replaced the 10 common caps (9 of them were obviously bulged) and this TV continues to run for a few minutes and starts to click off and back on over and over again. Sometimes it will run for several minutes and stop shutting off; it seems to be random sometimes, but more often starts to do this once something heats up after the first couple of minutes from a cold state.

I haven't found any bad solder connections, but I feel like this is likely at this point. I am scratching my head at the thought that replacing all these bulged caps didn't fix it!

    Please help!

try heating components with hot air gun and spray some freeze coolant on PSU board to see if it will work fine.

You may have the common "AC detect" fault

Thanks for the replies; I wanted to post an update. I caved in and went ahead and replaced the Power Supply board and all is well. I did try freezing things on the old PS, but couldn't really get any consistent results and it didn't seem to have the AC detect issue. Thanks for the tips, though! Wish I could have figured out what was wrong with the old Power Supply board.
