    Panasonic TH-42PZ800B 12 blink fault

    Hi everyone

After a successful fix on a rare 6 blink fault I had with a working TV for two days it has now developed a 12 blink fault (SOS sound) A board fault

I have taken the rear cover off again and check the power supply 15 volt out from power supply P6 pin 1 and it rises to only 1.5 volts before shut down to 12 blink code. This was with the A12 connector to the HB audio amp board connected and then disconnected with the test performed again.

Does anyone know if the 15 volt transformer on the power supply on this TV have a thermal fuse buried under it?

    Many thanks

    Regards

Re: Panasonic TH-42PZ800B 12 blink fault

15V fault would not trigger this.
This is an audio fault - bad shorted speaker, pinched wiring, bad A board +9V or bad A board audio amplifier ckt.

        Ok all

I did disconnect the speakers out from the audio board
And have checked all wiring looms for pinching none found is there anyway I can check if it is the audio amp or A board without parts?

Sorry I meant to say I still have 12 blink with speakers disconnected

Tom could you please explain the lack of 15 volt between turning on and 12 blink as I was under the impression from the block diagram that the sound amp was driven by 15volts from P5 to PA5 then PA5 to PA6 though the pa board PA6 to A6 through A board and then out on A13 and in HC board on HC 13 and on to the audio out board

Just trying to get my head around the lack of 15volts (1.5 volts max is all I am seeing)

          Many thanks

One more thing the ss and sc board green led are not lite before the 12 blink fault is shown is this normal with this fault?

                It can be normal.

To test panel (SC,SU,SD,SS,D,C# boards) and PSU (P & PB board), disconnect all connectors from "A" board. When you plug the TV in, the screen should glow dim first, then glow full white. The fans will not spin and the power light will not glow. Don't run it in this condition for more than 5 minutes.

This would tell you the fault is A board related.

                    Hi tom

I did what you said spot on had the white screen. it's the A board. Anyway I can repair the A board or narrow it down to a specific location on the board? These board seem to be hard to come by

                    Many thanks Tom

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                      by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
                      by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

                      After all of...

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
                      by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

Using a 5 volt @ 12 amp switching power supply and two USB doctor volt / amp meter to three IPads on one power supply
                      by sam_sam_sam
I have been wanting to do this project for some time using a Mean-well switching power supply that I bought at least ten of them that were originally in a device that was abandoned for some reason they were listed new but removed from equipment that was never used

I do not understand Mean-well the capacitor next to the voltage reference ic chip was a brand that is known for failure over time the other capacitors are brand name needless to say it got replaced before I even powered it on for the first time

I used a four USB outlet and electrical plate that is made for...

I am in need of a 21 volt switching power supply with at least 5 amp capacity
                      by sam_sam_sam
I would be open to a 24 volt @ 5 amp switching power supply that can be adjusted down to 21 volts permanently and the over load protection is still functional and low voltage cutoff 15 volt or higher if necessary

I would rather not have to use a buck converter to get the voltage that I need

So is anyone else that has successfully modify one for a slight lower voltage had good results willing to share with me the safest way to accomplish this task

I googled for a 21 volt switching power supply and did not find very much information for switching power supply...
