    Samsung LE32A336J1D backlight won't turn on

    It doesn't flash on and then off, the CFLs simply don't turn on at all. I tested them individually with a one lamp inverter, they all turn on, but only 2/3 of the length (maybe not strong enough inverter?). When they do, I see the image too.

    I measured the voltages going into the inverter board:

    E_PWM = 3.80

    I_PWM = 2.47

    BLON = 5.21

    VBL = 24.1

    What other tests should I run at this point?

    So far the Voltage readings are correct.

        Re: Samsung LE32A336J1D backlight won't turn on

        I checked the fuses, they are OK. Until i can get some pictures of it (3Mp camera that i have won't do it) here's a list of the chips on the board:

        12 * 4614
        10393
        BA2902F
        OZ964GN

        The board is CMO T87I029.14

        Since there is no visually identifiable damage, maybe a picture of the product from an online store would help.

        I found a burnt fuse, F1, 0.75A 76V. Shops are closed for the day but in the meantime, what could have cause it to burn? If I replace it will it just burn again?

          That black fuse is the common failure on CMO inverter board, I use pico fuse for replacement, you just have to bend the legs to fit and no need to remove the old fuse. I replaced more than 30 of these fuses on CMO Inverter board. So far non of my repair works come back due to the same fuse, so new fuse should take care of the problem. BTW, the fuse is for supplying the voltage to run the PWM IC.

            Wow, thank you! It's so good to know that it's a known issue. The smallest one i could find was 1.25A 250V. The seller seemed confident it's OK to use. Should i go ahead and put it in or try to find another one?

              You can use that 1.25A for testing.

                Samsung QE82Q70RAT no backlight
                by sansanpartida
                Hi everyone!

                Hope you're all having a great day, and thank you very much for stopping by and taking the time to read this post to help me with my parents' Samsung TV.

                My issue: No backlight.

                Model: QE82Q70RAT
                Type No: QE82Q70RAT

                The TV was already serviced by Samsung once under warranty for the exact same issue, but six months after the fix, the backlight went out again. Now, Samsung is asking for nearly the same price as a brand new TV to fix this with the same 6-month guarantee.

                So hopefully, I can fix this cheaper.

                Samsung UN55NU7300F Curved TV. Half side backlight out. Fixed by just removing the rear snap cover
                by howardc64
                TV was fixed just after removing Samsung's rear snap cover.

                This curved TV's construction is rather interesting. When the snapped on back is removed, rest of the TV will relax the curvature. Top of LCD panel is loose as it wants to straighten out against the slightly curved bezel. Snapped back provide most of the curvature shape. So just simple disassembly of rear cover will allow the rest of the TV frame to relax its curvature. Thats probably what fixed it but no idea which connection. 4x LEDs are edge lit.

                Maybe PSU->backlight connector didn't have a good contact?...

                Samsung QN75Q6FNA backlight no display, red LED blink 2x, fault in panel

                • Prior owner tried a replacement main board. No difference.
                • Samsung 2x red blinking standby LED = panel fault
                • Jumpered FB_TRDY_1 (pin 1 CN1300 left. main tcon->left side buffer boards) and FB_TRDY_3 (pin 95 CN1301 right. main tcon->right side buffer boards) This allows testing individual T-Con (on main board) connection to panel on this Samsung. Found fault on left side (viewing from rear of TV)
                • Each side has 2 buffer boards, disconnected left side flex between 2 buffer boards. Fault is on the left most board.
                • Tape masking eventually isolated to CN1300 pin 15 (CKV4_GOA) Display
