Coby LED TV2326 - No Power

    Hello,

My first time doing this...My Coby LED TV2326 will not power on, no stand by, no clicking, nothing. I took the power supply board to a tv repair guy who tested it and said nothing was wrong with it, that it must be something else, and that I should stop wasting my time and buy another tv. The frugality in me figures I've nothing to loose by still trying to fix it.

I've attached various angled views of the motherboard (part no. 002-FV24-2510-00R). There are lots of questionable yellowish-brownish ooze. Not sure if I should replace.

    Please save me someone!

Re: Coby LED TV2326 - No Power

Please upload the pictures of the whole back side of the TV so we can see how all the boards are connected together, and also good whole pictures of the power supply board top side and bottom side of the board.
BTW, those yellowish stuff are bad brown glue that will become corrosive and conductive.
Did you check the voltage outputs of the power supply board to see what it is putting out?

      Here are more pics.

Don't know about voltage output (sorry). TV repair guy checked voltage ouput on various components on the power supply, but not sure exactly what, just know he said nothing was wrong with it.

So do you have digital meter, soldering iron, etc.?

You will need at least a digital multimeter.

OK, do you know how to use it?

                See this photo:
                https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...2&d=1413991468

Check the power outputs on the power supply, with everything connected. You should get some output voltages on the pins marked 12V and 5V. Careful, as the set will have to be live and plugged in while you do this... don't touch anything on the power board with your hands.

To test: set your meter to 20V DC, put the black probe on a pin marked GND, and the red probe on the other pins one after another, noting voltages and the label they correspond to. Please present results like so:

                12V - 11.98
                ON/OFF - 3V
                GND - 0V
                ... (etc)

Re: Coby LED TV2326 - No Power

                  The results:

                  PIN1.4.5:GND
                  PIN2:ADJ - "5.03"
                  PIN3:ENA - no reading
                  PIN6:7.5v - "5.23"
                  PIN8.9:12v - "12.5", "12.66"

Sorry for late reply, I've been very ill.

"PIN3:ENA - no reading" OK, the main board is not sending the Enable signal.

It means the power supply board is OK, but the main board is not OK.

For 23" TV? If it is less than $30 then it may be worth it.
You can check the voltages of the regulator ICs.

There's a little black plastic latch on that connector. Usually you have to lift or slide that latch (be *VERY* careful, as they are delicate) to get the connector in properly.

                                        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                        Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power

                                        Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                        Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply

I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
