    Panasonic TH-50PZ85U (before I scrap)

    Hey all.

I recently got a TH-50PZ85U for free, the PS was giving the 2/10 blink.

Fast Forward, I got a working Power supply, the Panel fired right up and to my disappointment on the far right side of the panel, there was a lower buffer sized row of colored lines that would shift colors (not positions).

This buffer connection was under the HDMI 3 port box (lots of heat) when I pulled the box off I can see that the ribbon cable was not put in well from the factory as it was kind of shifted so I pulled it and reseated it to no change.

When the ribbon was disconnected what should have been a solid black void was rainbow sparkles in place.

I pulled the heat sink off the IC plate and look at the IC on the ribbon from the bottom and when I applied pressure to the IC the rainbow sparkles would disappear but the lines you see on the far far right would not change.

I am 99.9% sure this is a bad panel but before I scrap the screen I wanted to ask. I already pulled all the guts out minus the lower buffers as they were pretty cheap anyway.

Here is a horrible photo, my plasma table suffered a broken leg so with me holding this up and snapping a photo this is what I got."

Bummer, this actually had a pretty nice picture other then those pesky lines!

On a side note I got a ton of good parts! Will trade for a TNPA4782 (no suffix) SC board!

Looks like a bad panel sadly. Did you say you had a FET on the P board go short in Vda circuit? (Or was that someone else...)

These power boards take 120V from the 15V/Vda transformer and buck it down to 75V. If the FET goes short, Vda would overshoot to 120V which would surely do some damage somewhere.
Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Must have been someone else, this is my 3rd Panasonic .

I figured as much on the panel being toast. like I said I got parts now! I just wish this SC board was compatible with my G15!

Panasonic P42S30 Plasma - Pink sparkles
        by Lintesir
My parents' Panasonic P42S30 died recently, and they asked me to have a look at it. I was able to identify the SN-board as the culprit, as it was shorted. After removing Q401, Q402, Q421 and Q422 the short was gone, so I replaced these components and that got the TV working again. However, when testing the tv a bit, I noticed quite bad pinkish sparkles on some colors. For instance the greyish bar on this forum seems to trigger it quite badly. I made a fullscreen test picture with only that color, with the below result.

There is about a 5cm high region at the top without any sparkles,...

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
        by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
        by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

Panasonic TX-P42S20E Plasma tv. First purple sparkles, now completely black
        by Nirrain
        Hi,

I have a Panasonic TX-P42S20E plasma TV that lately has been showing flashing pink pixels when the picture is bright (similar to picture 5 in this post), primarily on the top half but to a lesser degree in the buttom half.

I've tried to change VSUS to high but it made the issue even worse so changed it back.

However, this is all a backstory as yesterday after being on for about 5 minutes the screen turned black. I've tried to hard reset (hold power on tv for 30 sec).

When turned on the green LED flashes 6 times and then stays on continously....

        Hi everyone!
I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.
For my passion for technology I'm now collecting several...
