Hey folks,
Just found out about this forum and I'm hoping I can find some help. I have a Samsung SN60E530A3F plasma which has had power up issues for a while now. It started taking one or two times trying to power it on to get picture. When this occurred, it has sound but no picture at all. After several attempts the picture would finally come on and it worked flawlessly until we turned it off again. Well, as time has gone on (about 6 months now) it has taken more and more attempts to get it to come on, until now where I cant get picture even trying 30 plus times.
As a novice at electronics, I found all the information online pointing toward bad caps so I replaced the ones on the power board, but that didn't fix the problem. Assuming it was still an issue with the power board, I replaced it with a refurbished one I bought online. Same results, so I returned that board and put the original board with the new capacitors back on.
At this point I decided to try checking voltages at the power board with my multi meter, Vs was supposed to be 211volts. By the time I turned it on, and got the multimeter on the test point it read 192 and was quickly dropping, eventually reaching 10.5 volts after about a minute.
A YouTube video recommended unplugging the x and y sustain boards and trying again, but when I do this the tv wont power up...not sure why.
Any tips or further guidance is much appreciated.
