    Philips 47pfl3603d/27 power supply

    Hey guys-
I have this set on the bench, I powered it up and the p/s caught on fire! It turns out the transformer on the board is shorted. Is there a source for these? The number I can read off of it reads as follows:

    2K8 47 FHD
    2130KP023OA-F
    SC-080322C

    Appreciate any and all feedback!

Transformers will read short due to how they are constructed. Pictures of the damage?

Hope this works, main board is still ok, picture did come on for a few seconds.

To me, looks like something NEAR the transformer failed, rather than the transformer itself.

Nothing near the transformer on the board. Fire was coming out from the corner of the tranformer. Is there any replacements for these available? I have no leads on finding these.

It looks like a possibility that the wires connection to the pin may be bad. If so it may be arcing. You may be able to heat the pin with an iron and pull it out with a pair of needle nose pliers. Then re-solder the connection and push it back in. I cant tell from the pictures but it almost looks like the solder connection is out the side in which case you wouldn't need to pull the pin.

I'm pretty sure this transformer is toast, there was a fire going on as soon as I powered it up. There was a flame for a few seconds. I literally had to blow it out! I'm sure the insulation in the tranformer broke down and there's no fixing this transformer. Does anyone know where I could find a replacement transformer?

Cut off the burned portion of the output, along with a piece of wire and gently restore the circuit external connection wires

Well Caleb and Kasfamily, thanks for the feedback, I didn't think I would be able to rework the connection but I did! The board definitely has some fire damage, but it is up and running. I appreciate your feedback big time. I'm having some quirky issues now, not exactly sure what's going on, my Philips remote for my other tv doesn't seem to be working with this one. I'll find another remote and see if it makes a difference. Hopefully not a e-prom issue.
Thanks again guys, you saved me some serious $$$!

                      Hey Guys-
I'm back again. I just got the remote I needed for this and started watching the tv. After an hour or so, the picture went out. Still had the sound, but no picture. Any idea's? Caps look fine, but I know that doesn't mean anything. If I shut the set off and power back on, it will be ok for a while again.

Does the voltage droop? Probably vsus is dropping out, check for cold joints in that area.

Check inverter caps, and smd fuse on the board.

                            by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                            Assuming...

                            by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

                            by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

Definitive technology SC 2000 subwoofer amp's power supply clicking and popping
                            by JimBanville
The sub developed a constant popping every couple seconds from woofer and power LED flickering with nothing but wall AC connected. Connecting an audio cable didn't change anything. It doesn't play but a second or two of audio in between the pops.
Opened it up and discovered the power supply is making a faint clicking or ticking sound.
I measured the amp's output to the woofer and it pulses up to 50mv DC to be driver. The pulses coincide with the power supply ticking/clicking.
I measured the power supply output going to the amp board and it too has this pulsing. Voltage cycles...

                            Russound CA4 Power Supply Repair

                            Hello Everybody,

Trying to repair a power supply from a Russound CA4 Multizone Controller (picture attached)

Russound no longer supports it but were kind enough to provide a schematic of the power supply (pdf attached).

The outputs marked 12v and 20v are all measuring only 1v.

The board is clicking, which I think means it is in something called hiccup mode when the flyback transformers switches because of an internal problem or something else on the board Overloading it.

The capacitors physically look clean (no bludgesor leaks) and...
