Re: ps51e450 fuzzy static middle of the screen
Definitely a bad panel. E series is pretty prone to such a fault. In general a lot of Samsung panels are bad these days, so I am very wary when picking them up.Last edited by tom66; 09-28-2014, 03:39 PM.Please do not PM me with questions! Re: ps51e450 fuzzy static middle of the screen
With a noisy section like that I would say 100% panel and not the buffers. you could gamble on the buffer board but I think you will be disappointed.
It's a bugger but that's the way it is.Comment

Re: ps51e450 fuzzy static middle of the screen
Usually horizontal and vertical lines are both panel issues - regardless of LCD or plasma tech.
Panel failures are rarer with plasmas, but they do happen...Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

those COF (Chip On Film) chips are a PITA!
Seen quite a few older Panasonic 42" with those gone and a few Samsung lately too....

Re: ps51e450 fuzzy static middle of the screen
Just helped a guy with a TH-P50V20A, 2010 , 5081 SC failure. Got it going, total hours 3300, and he's had a single line for some time. bad luck there, mine has 10 000hrs and panel still good, hope it continues for some time yet.Comment

Re: ps51e450 fuzzy static middle of the screen
I scrapped three 42PX60's in one day--with bad COF Chips! All those sets though probably had well over 15,000 hours on 'em. Still a shame though, sets were in great condition apart from the fault....

Re: ps51e450 fuzzy static middle of the screen
Some early PX70s and PZ70Bs (before the "BA" designation) had that fault as well.
From what I've heard, it's a software bug - the control board in certain cases can have the Va remain live when the 5V shuts down, just for a second.
This can damage the COF chips eventually, if they go into an undesired "latch up" state. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

by spice_discI'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.
The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...1 Photo -
by KibergeHI guys!
I've got a Samsung LH82QENELGC/EN with a problem and need some advice and I hope this is the forum to use?
I'm from Norway so I'd like to apology in advance if my description of the fault is kind of simple or the names on the components are way off. 😊
the TV is powering up, working as normally and picture is all good, except a 1.5-inch-wide vertical line of snow/static across the screen.
This TV is a Signage Display/Public Display version and it's been used at my work for 4-5 years showing commercials 24/7. The fault occurred when... -
by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by smic717394Hi,
I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on... -
by burbutsalosHello everyone.
I have this TV set which has this issue. It shows a vertical bar im the middle of the screen.
The panel has 12 cofs and the problem seems to be on the territory of the first cof on the right side.
The tv fires up and you can see a good picture exept that vertical part where multicoloured pixels exist.
The strange thing there is that you can see behind that snow that it shows picture but as if there are these pixels in front so you cannot see clearly.
The effect is there even on a completely black screen.
The screen... - Loading...
