    Samsung LE40M87BD red light flashing.

    I have a Samsung LE40M87BD

    Was turning on and off.

Replaced the 5 caps on the power supply.

    Replaced the eprom.

When switching on it flashes 5 times then comes on
    and is fine.

Put old eprom back in same issue. ( just incase was issue with epprom)
    reset the epprom
Now it too flashes 5 times then turns on
    and runs fine.

No longer makes the samsung meldoy either.

Any thoughts why it is still flashing ?

Other wise the tv has been working fine all day..
    had it on test.

Update just to test a theory
Let the tv cool down and then turned back on

Now it is turning on and off again..

Is your TV the model with another board between the mainboard and the panel? If so, the fault resides in the Micronas BGA processor on that board. It is called the SUB MAIN".
