    Sanyo plasma switching off!

Hello all I have a Sanyo Plasma that when you turn it on it starts to light up but then shuts off. I cant find any blown fuses or shorted parts and all the caps appear to be good. It just clicks when it turn on then of course clicks when it shuts down. Sometimes it will do this multiple times and other just once or twice. Can any of you give me an idea of just what it may be or where to start?
    Thanks

When you say "light up", do you mean the screen glows briefly? (if only dimly)

exactly what I mean. Does not show any information as input or video just a light glow.

OK, look at these two boards

Is an LED glowing on them? If so does it stay lit? Do both glow?

There is a green led on the one on the left for sure. It just stays lit solid.
I will have to check on the right one.

On some Panasonic panel modules, there is no LED on the SS board (right hand board)

Your TV has Sanyo main A/V board and software, but the display panel and driver electronics are manufactured by Panasonic (a good supplier.)

This is a very common problem with this model. It is a defective main board. There are repair kits on eBay for the main board but at times it's a hit and miss with it. Just wish someone would help figure out what was in those kits.

Do you still need me to check on the other board for the led?
Also why does it matter if the LED is solid, on or off?

The main board as in the one with all the inputs on it?

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                      by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply
                      by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

                      FUNAI/SANYO FW55D25F Shuts Down Randomly
                      by Michale32086
I have Sanyo 55" TV that randomly shuts off..

Sometimes it will stay on for 5mins or so, sometimes it shuts off after a min or two...

When it DOES stay on, it works fine...

All things being equal, would it be more likely a POWER Board issue or a MAIN Board issue???

                      Thanx in advance......

Samsung PN43E450A1FXZA (Plasma) - Display up for 4 mins, then shuts itself down
                      by berriferous
Set was manufactured in 2012. I'm trying to diagnose where the problem is. I am assuming it is over-currenting after heating up? Display looks fine until it decides to shutdown. If I keep turning it on, it will eventually refuse to power up and requires unplugging to get it to respond again.

I originally thought there would be some easily detected bad electrolytic capacitors, but I don't see the telltale signs. There might be some very minimal bulging on one of the x buffer board. BN96-22092A (LJ92-01852A).

If I unplug the power feed to the X/Y board (LJ92-01854B), the...

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
                      by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...
