Do have a question myself. Any info on what ZD5502 is? Just in case I have to replace it myself, I have not found what the value of it should be. all i know it's a zener, but Voltage and rating ??

Tomm66, do you have any idea what's going on with the voltages , would love to be able to fix this instead of just replacing the yboard, but well out of my depth need some expert help

Sorry I really don't. I haven't worked on one of these for a while.

              Re: Ps-50q96hd That went pop

Not sure if I should be posting this question on an old thread but here it goes, I have just acquired one of these (samsung PS50Q96HD) which has 'sound but no picture'. I've been reading previous threads and the attached pdf test/repair guide and found the top buffer chip short (no suprises there based on other posts).

When checking the YSUS, Q5500, Q5302, Q5303, Q5304 & Q5306 tested short while in circuit but after removing them only Q5302 (88N30W) tests as short, the rest test fine. What do you think my chances would be if I just replace the one blown FET and the buffer chip? (and C5300 and C5709 caps) As far as I can tell the other bits included in the repair kits are testing OK. Being a cruddy old set that doesn't seem to be too popular I don't really want to spend much £ on it, has anyone ever tried this? Thanks in advance
